The Middlebury men's squash team has earned the No. 3 seed in the Summers Cup (C Division) for the upcoming CSA Team Championships to be played at various locations in Boston, Mass. The Panthers take on sixth-seeded Amherst in a quarterfinal match on Friday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. This marks the third meeting in the CSA Team Championships and the third match between the two squads this year. #19 Middlebury topped the #22 Mammoths 9-0 during the regular season and 6-3 in the NESCAC Quarterfinals. The Panthers hold a 17-2 advantage in the all-time series.
Middlebury enters the weekend with a 7-10 record and finished third at the conference championships. Senior William Cembalest has played phenomenal this year in the second spot, as he started the year with a career-best nine match win streak. At #1, Nick Bermingham eclipsed the 30-win mark, while #4 Jack Kagan is just one shy of 50 career victories. #3 Jacob Ellen, #8 Wiatt Hinton, #7 PK Keller and #6 Nate Moll have each won seven matches this season. Rounding out the lineup is #5 John Epley, #8 Alex Merrill and #9 Alex Giles.
