  • Pair of Panthers Compete at CSA Individual Championships

    A pair of Panthers from the men’s squash team competed at the 2020 CSA Individual Championships this weekend at the University of Pennsylvania. Jack Kagan made his third appearance at the championship event and competed in the Molloy North division, while Nick Bermingham was in the Molloy West division. Both Middlebury players fell in the round of 16, before earning 3-0 victories in the consolation quarterfinals on Friday.

    Two members of the Middlebury men’s squash team began competition at the CSA Individual Championships on Friday at the University of Pennsylvania. Jack Kagan was selected to compete in the Malloy North division, while Nick Bermingham is in the Malloy West division.

    Two members of the Middlebury men’s squash team will compete in the 2020 CSA Individual Championships from March 6-8 at the University of Pennsylvania. Senior Nick Bermingham (Denver, Colo.) is making his first appearance at the Championships, while senior Jack Kagan (Chapel Hill, N.C.) competes in his third.
  • Men's Squash Falls To Williams In Summers Cup Title Match

    The Middlebury men’s squash team came up just short of a Summers Cup title, falling by a score of 5-4 to Williams in the championship match. The third-seeded Panthers finish the season with a 9-11 mark, while the top-seeded Ephs end the year at 17-8. The contest was held at Harvard as part of the CSA Team Nationals Tournament.

  • Men’s Squash Advances to Summers Cup Semifinals

    The third-seeded Middlebury men’s squash team (8-10) topped sixth-seeded Amherst (8-9) by a score of 6-3 on Friday night in the Summers Cup (C Division) Quarterfinals at the CSA Team Championships. The win was the third for the Panthers against the Mammoths this season, as they now hold an 18-2 advantage in the all-time series. Middlebury advances to the semifinals, where they take on second-seeded Navy on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The other semifinal match features top-seeded Williams and fourth-seeded Bates at the same time.  
  • Four Men’s Squash Players Named to the All-NESCAC Team

    Four member of the Middlebury men’s squash team earned All-NESCAC honors when the post-season teams were announced on Thursday. Seniors Nick Bermingham (Denver, Colo.) and William Cembalest (Brooklyn, N.Y.) earned first-team honors, while seniors Jacob Ellen (New York, N.Y.) and Jack Kagan (Chapel Hill, N.C.) were named the to the second team.
  • Middlebury Heads to CSA Team Championships

    The Middlebury men’s squash team has earned the No. 3 seed in the Summers Cup (C Division) for the upcoming CSA Team Championships to be played at various locations in Boston, Mass. The Panthers take on sixth-seeded Amherst in a quarterfinal match on Friday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. This marks the third meeting in the CSA Team Championships and the third match between the two squads this year. #19 Middlebury topped the #22 Mammoths 9-0 during the regular season and 6-3 in the NESCAC Quarterfinals. The Panthers hold a 17-2 advantage in the all-time series.
  • Men’s Squash Places Third at NESCAC Championships

    The fifth-seeded Middlebury men’s squash team cruised to a 7-2 victory over third-seeded Bates (10-7) to place third at the NESCAC Championships for the fifth year in a row. The Panthers (7-10) are idle until February 28-29 when they head to Harvard for the CSA Team Championship.
  • Men’s Squash Downed in NESCAC Semifinals

    The fifth-seeded Middlebury men’s squash team (7-9) upset fourth-seeded Amherst 6-3 in NESCAC Quarterfinal action on Saturday morning, before falling to top-seeded Trinity 8-1 in a semifinal match. Middlebury will look to place third for the fifth-straight year when it plays in the third-place match on Sunday at noon against the loser of the Bates/Williams Semifinal match. The Bantams (14-1) will compete for their 14th-straight title at the same time against the winner of the other semifinal contest. 
  • Men's Squash Gears Up for NESCAC Championships

    The Middlebury men's squash team heads to Bowdoin this weekend for the 2020 NESCAC Men's Squash Championship and as the fifth-seed will begin competition on Saturday in a semifinal match against fourth-seeded Amherst. Trinity enters the 2020 NESCAC Men’s Squash Championship as the top seed for the 14th consecutive season and has won 13 straight titles.
  • Panthers Come From Behind to Top Jumbos 6-3

    Knotted 3-3, the #20 Middlebury men’s squash team (5-9) won three-straight matches en route to a 6-3 victory at #24 Tufts on Sunday afternoon. The Panthers are idle until February 14th-16th when they head to Bowdoin for the 2020 NESCAC Championships, while the Jumbos (4-7) have a trio of regular-season matches left.
  • Men’s Squash Falls to #9 Virginia

    The #20 Middlebury men’s squash team (4-9) was blanked 9-0 by #9 Virginia (11-4) in Boston on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers play their third match of the weekend on Sunday when they head to #24 Tufts for a 3:00 p.m. start.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The #20 Middlebury men’s squash (4-8) suffered a 6-3 loss at #17 MIT (12-5) on Friday night. The Panthers have a quick turnaround, as they play #9 Virginia at Harvard on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
  • Kagan Earns NESCAC Honors

    Middlebury men’s squash player Jack Kagan (Chapel Hill, N.C.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. The senior clinched the match for the Panthers against Colby, 5-4, with a win at the No. 4 spot over Chase Holding, 3-1 (11-8, 6-11, 11-4, 13-11).

    The #19 Middlebury men’s squash team (4-7) held off #20 Colby (4-4) in a thrilling 5-4 victory on Saturday afternoon in Maine. The Panthers return to the courts on Friday when they head to #16 MIT for a 5:00 p.m. match.

    The #19 Middlebury men’s squash team (3-7) earned a 6-3 victory at #23 Bowdoin (7-5) on Friday afternoon. The Panthers play their final contest of a three-match road stretch on Saturday when they head to #20 Colby for a noon start.
  • #19 Men's Squash Comes Up Short at #21 Bates

    The #19 Middlebury men’s squash team (2-7) came up short at #21 Bates on Thursday evening. The two teams were knotted at four game apiece, but the Bobcats (9-4) took the final match to edge the visitors 5-4. The Panthers return to action on Friday when they head to #23 Bowdoin for a 3:00 p.m. match.
  • #19 Middlebury Edged 5-4 by #16 Brown

    The #19 Middlebury men’s squash team (2-6) was edged 5-4 by #16 Brown (3-4) in its second home match of the weekend in the Bostwick Family Squash Center on Sunday. The Panthers return to action on January 23rd when they hit the road for a three-match  trip in Maine. They play at #25 Bates on Thursday, before heading to #24 Bowdoin and #23 Colby on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

    MIDDLEBURY, Vermont – The #19 Middlebury men’s squash team fell 6-3 to visiting #12 Franklin & Marshall (10-3) at home on Saturday morning. The Panthers (2-5) return to action on Sunday when they entertain #16 Brown.

    The Middlebury men's squash team wrapped up a three-match road trip with a contest against fifth-ranked Drexel (6-3) on Sunday . The 19th-ranked Panthers (1-4) were defeated in Philadelphia by a score of 9-0. Middlebury is back on the courts Thursday when it plays its home opener against Amherst at 3:00 p.m.
  • Men's Squash Downed By George Washington

    The Panther men’s squash team suffered a 9-0 loss at #9 George Washington (4-4) on Saturday. Middlebury (1-3), currently ranked 19th, is back in action on Sunday with a 12:30 p.m. match at Drexel. Nate Moll, PK Keller and Jack Kagan were each able to take a game from their opponent during the match.

    The Middlebury men’s squash team opened a three-match weekend with an 8-1 loss at #18 Navy (7-6) on Friday night in Annapolis. The 19th-ranked Panthers (1-2) return to action on Saturday when they visit George Washington with a 1:00 p.m. start.

  • 2019-20 Men's Squash Season Preview

    Led by an experienced group of returning players in addition to a solid incoming class, the Middlebury men’s squash program has high expectations heading into the 2019-20 season. Last winter, the men posted a record of 15-6, including a program-record eight-match winning streak. The Panthers finished the year ranked 19th nationally and placed third in the NESCAC Tournament.
  • Ellen, Willig Inducted Into Phi Beta Kappa

    Two Middlebury College senior student-athletes were elected to Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest honor society for the liberal arts and sciences in the United States. Men's squash player Jacob Ellen (New York, N.Y.) and women's cross country/track and field runner Anna Willig (Phoenixville, Pa.) were honored for their hard work in the classroom.
