  • French, Cromwell Win Consolation Titles During CSA Individual Championships

    Wyatt French and David Cromwell of the Middlebury men's squash team earned consolation final victories in the Molloy Cup ‘A’ and ‘B’ brackets during the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships. Matches were contested at The Squash Club at Chelsea Piers in Stamford, Connecticut. French earned the consolation title in ‘A’ bracket with a 3-1 record, while Cromwell secured his championship in the ‘B’ bracket.
  • Panther Men Edge Brown to End CSA National Team Championships

    The Middlebury men’s squash team defeated Brown by a 5-4 score in a back-and-forth contest during the Hoehn Cup’s 15th/16th-place match at the CSA National Team Championship. The event was held at Yale’s Brady Squash Center. The Panthers finish the season ranked 15th-nationally with an overall record of 13-6 under first-year head coach Mark Lewis.
  • Panther Men Fall to Navy During CSA Team Championships

    Middlebury fell to #14 Navy by a 9-0 score on Saturday morning in the Hoehn Cup consolation semifinal at the CSA Men's Squash National Team Championship. The event is being hosted by Yale at the Brady Squash Center. The 15th-ranked Panthers (12-6) return to action Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. for the 15th/16th-place match against #16 Brown. Middlebury squared off with Brown earlier this season on January 16, earning a thrilling 5-4 victory in the Panthers' home finale.
  • Men’s Squash Falls to Cornell at CSA National Team Championship

    The 15th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team fell to #10 Cornell by a 9-0 score on Friday morning in the Hoehn Cup quarterfinal round at the CSA National Team Championship. The event is being hosted by Yale at the Brady Squash Center. The Panthers return to action Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. in a consolation semifinal match against #14 Navy. Middlebury squared off with the Midshipmen on January 29, earning a thrilling 5-4 victory at the Yale Round Robin.
  • French Named to the All-NESCAC First Team

    Wyatt French (Farmington, Conn.) has been named to the 2016 All-NESCAC men’s squash first team. The junior helped Middlebury earned the #7 seed in the Hoehn Cup (B Division) for the upcoming National Team Championships to be played at Yale from February 26-28.
  • Panther Men’s Squash Prepares for CSA National Team Championship

    The Middlebury men’s squash team has earned the #7 seed in the Hoehn Cup (B Division) for the upcoming National Team Championships to be played at Yale in the Brady Squash Center. The Panthers, ranked 15th overall, will compete in the Hoehn Cup for the third time in the program’s nine-year history after winning the Summers Cup (C division) each of the last three years. Middlebury takes on 10th-ranked Cornell in a quarterfinal match on Friday, February 26 at 9:00 a.m. and will continue to play on both Saturday and Sunday to determine their overall finish.
  • Men's Squash Defeats Williams in NESCAC Third-Place Match

    The second-seeded Panther men's squash team, ranked 14th nationally, ended the weekend in third place for the fourth time over the program’s nine-year history during the 2016 NESCAC Tournament hosted by Trinity. Middlebury recorded a narrow 5-4 victory on Sunday over fourth-seeded and #18 Williams. The Panthers improve to 12-4 overall and return to action at the CSA Team Championships at Yale.
  • Three Panthers Post 2-0 Records, Men’s Squash Falls in NESCAC Semis

    The 14th-ranked Panther men's squash team split a pair of matches during the NESCAC Tournament on Saturday hosted by Trinity. After receiving a bye through the first round, second-seeded Middlebury recorded an 8-1 win in the quarterfinals over #7 seed Bowdoin before falling to third-seeded and 17th-ranked Bates in the semifinals, 6-3. The Panthers (11-4) return to play on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. in the third-place match against #4 seed, 18th-ranked Williams.
  • Panther Men's Squash Eyes NESCAC Crown

    Second-seeded Middlebury looks to hoist the conference trophy this weekend when the three-day 2016 NESCAC Men's Squash Championship commences on Friday. Trinity’s George A. Kellner Squash Center will serve as the host for all of this year’s championship bracket matches, while Wesleyan’s Rosenbaum Squash Center will host select consolation matches on Saturday. The NESCAC Championship match will be played on Sunday, February 7 at 1:30 p.m.
  • Middlebury Ends Regular Season With Thrilling Win Over Navy

    The 15th-ranked Middlebury men’s squash team earned a hard-fought 5-4 victory Friday evening over #14 Navy in a match played at Yale for the Panthers’ final match of the season. Middlebury (10-3) returns to the court on Friday when it competes in the NESCAC Tournament hosted by Trinity.
  • Cromwell Named NESCAC Player of the Week

    Middlebury College men’s squash player David Cromwell (Baltimore, Md.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. In the lone match of the week, Cromwell clinched Middlebury’s first team win over Williams in program history when he turned in a 3-0 (11-6, 11-7, 11-5) victory at the No. 2 position. The #15 Panthers went on to defeat the #18 Ephs by a score of 7-2, as the match was the 12th meeting between the two programs.
  • Middlebury Earns Hard-Fought Road Victory at Williams

    The 16th-ranked Middlebury men’s squash team posted a thrilling 7-2 road victory Saturday over #18 Williams (4-10) for the first-ever victory on the men’s side over the Ephs. Saturday’s match was the 12th meeting between the two programs. Middlebury (9-3) returns to the court on Friday when it takes on 14th-ranked Navy in a match to be contested at the Yale Round Robin.

    The 16th-ranked Middlebury men’s squash team concluded a busy stretch with its fourth match in the last six days, falling to 10th-ranked Franklin & Marshall 6-3 on Sunday in a match played at Williams. The Panthers (8-3) have nearly a week off from competition before returning to the court Saturday in a road contest with the 18th-ranked Ephs at 2:00 p.m.

    The 16th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team earned a hard-fought 5-4 home victory Saturday over #15 Brown in the Panthers’ final home match of the season. Middlebury (8-2) returns to the court on Sunday when it takes on 10th-ranked Franklin & Marshall in a match to be contested at Williams.
  • Krant Named Harrow Sports College Squash Player of the Week

    Middlebury College men’s squash player Ben Krant (Williamstown, Mass.) has been named the men’s Harrow Sports College Squash Player of the Week by the College Squash Association. At the Maine Round Robin, the 18th-ranked Panthers squared off with 17th-ranked Bates. Tied at four match wins apiece, the Middlebury junior took on Bates’ McLeod Abbot at the #7 position. Dropping the first game by an 11-6 tally, Krant won the final three games en route to clinching the fifth Panther point by scores of 11-4, 11-4, and 11-1 to propel the Panthers to the 5-4 victory.
  • #18 Panther Men Fall to Third-Ranked St. Lawrence

    The 18th-ranked Middlebury men’s squash team saw its seven-match winning streak come to an end, falling at home Wednesday to #3 St. Lawrence by a 9-0 score. The Panthers return to the court Saturday when they host 16th-ranked Brown at 12:00 p.m.
  • Panther Men Ease Past #22 Amherst
    January 12, 2016
    The 18th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team eased past #22 Amherst in the squad's home-opening match Tuesday evening by an 8-1 score. The win is the seventh-straight for Middlebury, tying a record for the longest winning streak in the program's history. The Panthers return to the court Wednesday when they host third-ranked St. Lawrence at 4:30 p.m.
  • Men’s Squash Goes 3-0 During Maine Weekend Trip

    The 18th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team recorded three victories on the road last weekend during a trip to Maine. The Panthers opened action Friday with a hard-fought 5-4 victory over #17 Bates. Middlebury followed up Saturday with a 6-3 win against #20 Colby, concluding with a 9-0 triumph over #21 Bowdoin. The Panthers (6-1), winners of six-straight matches, return to the court on Tuesday when they play a home match against #22 Amherst at 5:00 p.m.
  • Men’s Squash Picks Up Pair of 9-0 Victories

    The 18th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team earned two 9-0 victories on the road in matches played at Hamilton's Little Squash Center. The Panthers opened action on Saturday with a victory over the host Continentals, and followed that triumph with a blanking of 24th-ranked Hobart. The Panthers (3-1) return to the court on the road on Friday, January 8 when they play #17 Bates at 6:00 p.m. followed by matches with #20 Colby and #21 Bowdoin on Saturday, January 9.
  • Men’s Squash Splits Pair of Contests to Begin Season

    The Middlebury men’s squash team split a pair of matches to open the season in Massachusetts at the Williams Round Robin. The 17th-ranked Panthers faced two teams ranked in the top 20 on Saturday. Middlebury opened the season with an 8-1 setback to #12 Cornell by an 8-1 score, but rebounded later in the day for an 8-1 victory over 19th-ranked Western Ontario.
  • 2015-16 Men's Squash Preview

    A talented roster of returners coupled with a strong first-year class gives the Middlebury men's squash program high expectations headed into the 2015-16 season. Last winter, the men posted a record of 15-7 against a tough schedule and finished the year ranked 17th nationally, winning the Summers Cup for the fifth time in the last eight years. The team returns seven of the nine regulars this winter from a season ago.
