Middlebury College men's squash player Valentin Quan has been named the Men's College Sqush Player of the Week by the CSA (College Squash Association. At the New England Small College Athletic Conference's (NESCAC) Squash Championships, Middlebury's #1 Quan led the Panthers to their best ever finish at the tournament, third.
The junior went 2-1 during the NESCAC tournament. His two victories came after losing games early in each match. Against Amherst, Quan lost the first two games against Andrew Kriete, but battled back to capture the match in five games (7-11, 9-11, 11-9, 11-5, 11-3). After Middlebury's loss to Trinity, the Panthers faced Bates for third place in the tournament. Against Bates' William Katz, Quan lost the opening game; however, he captured the next three games to win the match in four games (6-11, 11-5, 11-5, 11-8).
