  • Individuals Compete At Nationals - NESCAC Honors Announced

    Sophomore Brian Cady (Rye, N.Y.) and rookie Valentin Quan (La Libertad, El Salvador) represented the Middlebury men at the recent individual nationals hosted by Williams. Cady and Quan both competed each earned 0-2 marks. Cady ended the season with an 18-7 overall record, while Quan sported a 14-8 mark.

    The Panther men's squash has finished 17th in the nation by winning its flight at the recent team nationals event hosted by Princeton. In just their second year as a varsity sport, the 20th ranked Panthers earned 7-2 victories over #21 Denison and #17 Colby before meeting #18 Bowdoin in the finals.     The Middlebury men's squash team dropped a mid-week match at St. Lawrence by a score of 7-2. Brian Cady continued his winning streak with a five-set victory at #3 singles, while Valentin Quan won 3-0 at #2.
  • Men's Squash Competes At NESCAC Tourney

    The Middlebury men's squash team finished in eighth place among 11 teams in action at the NESCAC Championship hosted by Trinity. The Panthers cruised past Wesleyan 9-0 in a first-round match-up to improve on their school record with their 12th win of the season. Middlebury was then defeated 8-1 by Bates in the quarterfinals, before suffering a 6-3 loss to Hamilton in a consolation match-up. The weekend concluding with a hard-fought 5-4 loss to Bowdoin as sophomore Brian Cady (Rye, N.Y.) earned a 4-0 mark over the weekend.
  • Men's Squash Headed To NESCACs

    The Middlebury men's squash is set to compete in the 2009 NESCAC Championship this weekend at Trinity and Wesleyan. The sixth-seeded Panthers will take on #11 Wesleyan in a first-round contest on Friday at 7:30 p.m. If victorious, Middlebury would meet #3 Bates at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday in the quarterfinals.   • Men's Squash Tops Vassar & UVM

    The Middlebury men's squash team won its fourth and fifth straight matches as they picked up 9-0 wins over Vassar and UVM at home. The Panthers earned their school record 10th and 11th wins over the season in just their second year as a varsity sport.
  • Men's Squash With 4-1 Weekend
    January 18, 2009
    The Panther men's squash team had another solid weekend as Middlebury won four of five matches at the Yale Round Robin Tournament. Middlebury defeated Colby 8-1 before dropping a tight 5-4 match to #13 Bowdoin later that night. The next day, the Panthers bounced back with 8-1 wins over George Washington and Connecticut College, before ending the weekend with a 9-0 victory over Wesleyan. The win over the Cardinals avenges a loss just a year ago at nationals.

    The Middlebury men's squash team returned to action after the break with a pair of 9-0 home losses to Williams and Dartmouth. The Panthers then hit the road on Sunday, dropping a 9-0 match to Bates at Williams.

    The Panther men's squash team picked up two more wins as they won two matches on campus. Middlebury earned a 9-0 win over the University of Vermont, before handing Bard a defeat by the same score.

    The Panther men's squash team took its first road trip of the season, opening with a pair of 9-0 wins over Columbia and Haverford. Middlebury then took on Division I foes Penn. and Princeton, falling 8-1 and 9-0 in those two matches.
  • Men's Squash Wins Season Opener

    The Middlebury men's squash team earned a 6-3 win over Hamilton in their season opener at home. The Panthers entered the match ranked 21st in the pre-season, while the Continentals were 18th. The win avenges a 6-3 loss at the hands of Hamilton a year ago.
