Middlebury College men's soccer player Ben Potter (Evanston, Ill.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American Team. He becomes just the second athlete in Middlebury history to be a two-time honoree, joining Dan Pierce '16 (2014, 2015 Football).
After earning third-team honors a year ago, Potter moved up to the second team this fall. He boasts a 3.92 grade point average as an economics major and is a three-time All-NESCAC Academic selection.
Potter had three goals this fall, each of them game-winners, including the deciding tally in the NESCAC Semifinals against Amherst. One of this year's captains, the three-year starter concluded his career having played in 69 matches with 50 starts, tallying 28 points on 11 goals and six assists as well as six game-winning scores. His team finished with a 9-3-8 record, a spot in the NESCAC Championship match and the 13th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.
