The Middlebury men's soccer team has been honored for its work in the classroom with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award. During the 2018-19 academic year, the Panthers posted a cumulative team grade point average of 3.63, tying UNC-Wilmington for the sixth-best GPA across the three NCAA divisions.
The award marks the ninth time in the last 10 seasons that the Middlebury men's team has been recognized by the organization for its work in the classroom.
To qualify for the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year, a team must have recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Last fall, 16 members of the program were recognized as All-NESCAC Academic team honorees. On the field, the Panthers finished with a 10-4-3 record and played in the NCAA Tournament.
