  • NESCAC Winter All-Sportsmanship Teams Announced
    March 13, 2019
    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) announced its Winter All-Sportsmanship Team for each winter sport sponsored by the conference. The All-Sportsmanship Team is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. The student-athlete selected must be in good academic standing and a member of the team at the conclusion of the season in order to be eligible for selection.
  • NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team Members Honored

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2018-19 Winter All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury's 124 representatives, the highest among the 11 conference institutions.

  • Men's Hockey Ends Season in NESCAC Quarterfinals
    February 23, 2019
    The Middlebury men’s hockey team saw its season come to an end with a 4-1 loss at second-seeded Wesleyan in a NESCAC Quarterfinal matchup. The Panthers held a 31-23 shots advantage in the game, but had trouble getting past Wesleyan netminder Tim Sestak. The Panthers finish their season with a 8-13-4 mark, while the Cardinals (16-7-2) advanced to next weekend’s semifinals.
  • Men's Hockey Visits Wesleyan for NESCAC Quarterfinals

    Middlebury will look for its ninth NESCAC Championship when the journey begins this weekend with a quarterfinal game at Wesleyan on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Trinity is the No. 1 seed in the NESCAC Men's Ice Hockey Championship. The Bantams grabbed the top seed with two victories over Wesleyan on the final weekend of the regular season. The NESCAC Quarterfinals will be played on Saturday, February 23 on the campus of the higher seeds. The semifinals and final will be held on the campus of the highest remaining seed and are set for March 1-2 or March 2-3, depending on whether the host institution is also hosting any NESCAC Women's Ice Hockey Championship games.
  • Amherst Skates Past Middlebury, 4-1
    February 16, 2019
    Amherst scored the game's first three goals and added an empty-net tally, as Middlebury fell 4-1 to Amherst (13-6-4, 10-4-4) on Saturday in the regular-season finale. The Panthers (8-12-3, 5-9-3) earned the seventh seed in the upcoming NESCAC Tournament and will visit #2 Wesleyan for a quarterfinal game on Saturday.
  • Late Goal Earns Men's Hockey Tie at Hamilton

    Middlebury’s Jimmy McKee scored with 56 seconds left with an extra attacker, as the Panthers (8-11-4, 5-8-4) earned a 3-3 road tie at Hamilton (11-9-3, 9-5-3) on Friday night. The Panthers wrap up their regular season on Saturday with a 3:00 p.m. game at Amherst.
  • Men's Hockey Earns 2-2 Tie With #14 Williams
    February 09, 2019
    Middlebury battled back from two, one-goal deficits to earn a 2-2 tie with #14 Williams (14-6-2, 10-4-2) on Saturday night in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers (8-11-3, 5-8-3) return to action at Hamilton next Friday night, while the Ephs visit Amherst.
  • Men's Hockey Drops Road Game at Williams
    February 08, 2019
    Middlebury outshot #14 Williams 32-28, but could not get one past Michael Pinios, as the Ephs (14-6-1, 10-4-1) added an empty-netter for a 2-0 victory over the Panthers (8-11-2, 5-8-2) on Friday night. The two teams will battle again on Saturday, this time at Kenyon Arena with a 7:00 p.m. start.
  • Panther Profile - Junior Mitchell Allen

    Mitchell Allen ’20 is in his third year on the Middlebury men’s hockey team. A molecular biology and biochemistry major from Clifton Park, New York, Allen spent the summer of 2018 working at the Neural Stem Cell Institute in Rensselaer, New York.

    Trinity scored at least once in each period, as the 13th-ranked Bantams skated to a 4-1 NESCAC victory over Middlebury Saturday in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers (8-10-2, 5-7-2) are at Williams on Friday at 7:00 p.m., while the Bantams (12-3-5, 8-2-4) entertain conference opponent Colby the same day for a 7:30 p.m. start.
  • #15 Wesleyan Holds Off Middlebury

    Wesleyan scored once in the first and third periods, as the Cardinals remained unbeaten in NESCAC play with a 2-0 win over host Middlebury on Friday. The Panthers (8-9-2, 5-6-2) are home on Saturday with a 4:00 p.m. contest against 13th-ranked Trinity, while 15th-ranked Wesleyan (13-4-2, 11-0-2) heads to Williams at 3:00 p.m.
  • Middlebury Skates To 2-2 Tie At Tufts

    Middlebury and Tufts skated to a 2-2 NESCAC tie Saturday, as the Panthers finished the weekend collecting three points. Middlebury (8-8-2, 5-5-2) returns to the ice Friday, hosting first-place Wesleyan at 7:00 p.m.

    Middlebury scored 4:12 into Friday's first period and added an empty-net tally late in the final stanza, earning a 2-0 road victory over Connecticut College (4-12-1, 0-10-1) in Dayton Arena. Middlebury (8-8-1, 5-5-1) remains on the road for a 4:00 p.m. Saturday league contest at Tufts.
  • #13 Norwich Edges Middlebury In Closing Seconds
    January 22, 2019
    Norwich’s Jordan Hall knocked in a rebound with 22.4 seconds remaining, giving the 13th-ranked Cadets a 3-2 non-conference victory over Middlebury on Tuesday. The Panthers (7-8-1) return to NESCAC action Friday at Connecticut College in a 7:00 p.m. start, while Norwich (11-4-3) hosts Castleton at the same time.
  • Middlebury Doubles Up Bowdoin, 6-3
    January 19, 2019
    Middlebury scored at least once in each period, as the Panthers skated to a 6-3 NESCAC triumph over visiting Bowdoin on Saturday. Middlebury (7-7-1, 4-5-1) is home again Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. start with Norwich, while the Polar Bears (5-9-2, 3-7-1) entertains St. Anselm at the same time.

    Middlebury bounced back from a two-goal deficit in the second period, but visiting Colby netted the game’s final two tallies for a 4-3 NESCAC victory over the Panthers on Friday in Kenyon Arena. Middlebury (6-7-1, 3-5-1) is home again Saturday with a 3:00 p.m. start against Bowdoin, while the Mules (6-6-3, 3-5-2) head to Williams for a 3:00 p.m. faceoff.
  • Middlebury Grounds Cardinals With Five-Goal Third Period

    Middlebury stormed back from a two-goal deficit in the third period, scoring five unanswered goals on its way to a 6-3 triumph at Plattsburgh State (6-6-2) on Friday. The Panthers (6-6-1) return home next Friday, facing off against NESCAC opponent Colby at 7:00 p.m.
  • Beaney to Be Inducted Into Vermont Sports Hall of Fame

    Long-time Middlebury College coach Bill Beaney will be inducted into the Vermont Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2019.   • No. 12 Trinity Defeats Men’s Hockey In NESCAC Play

    Trinity scored three times over a span of 8:01 in Saturday’s first period and added another in the final stanza, as the 12th-ranked Bantams (7-3-2, 3-2-1) skated past visiting Middlebury 4-0 at the Koeppel Center. The Panthers (5-6-1, 3-4-1) return to action with a 7:00 p.m. non-conference road game Friday at Plattsburgh State.
  • Big Second Period Lifts Wesleyan Past Middlebury

    Wesleyan broke open a 1-0 game late in the second period and went on to pick up a 5-1 win over the Panthers (5-5-1, 3-3-1) on Friday night. Middlebury returns to action on Saturday with a 4:00 p.m. game at Trinity, while the Cardinals (5-3-1, 0-4-1) will host Williams at 3:00 p.m.
  • Middlebury Falls to #15 Hobart in Tournament Title Game, 3-0

    Hobart scored a pair of goals in the opening period, skating to a 3-0 victory over Middlebury on Sunday to win the 2018 Middlebury Holiday Classic. The Panthers (5-4-1) are at Wesleyan on Friday at 7:00 p.m., while the 15th-ranked Statesmen (9-4-0) return home the same night to face Potsdam. In the consolation game, #11 University of New England held off Johnson & Wales 4-3.
  • Late Goal Lifts Panthers Into Tournament Title Game

    Middlebury’s Owen Powers scored with 2:45 left in the third period, lifting the Panthers past Johnson & Wales 3-2 in the opening round of the Middlebury Holiday Classic on Saturday. Middlebury (5-3-1) faces either #15 Hobart or #11 University of New England in the championship at 4:00 p.m., while the Wildcats (3-8-2) skate in the consolation game at 1:00 p.m.

  • Wisco Tabbed NESCAC Player of the Week

    Middlebury College men’s hockey goaltender Adam Wisco (Peterborough, Ontario) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. The rookie stopped 60 of the 64 shots he faced to earn his first two career wins last weekend. He made 35 saves on Friday night in a 4-2 win over Connecticut. College, before stopping 25 shots in a 6-2 victory over Tufts the following day.

    Middlebury scored five-straight goals, including three in the second period, as the Panthers pulled away from visiting Tufts for a 6-2 NESCAC triumph on Saturday.
