Ten members of the Middlebury men's hockey team have been selected as 2017-18 American Hockey Coaches Association All-American Scholars.
To be eligible for the academic award, an athlete must maintain a grade point average at or above 3.6 during both semesters of the academic year and participated in at least 40 percent of the team's games. The 2017-18 year marks the second season in which the national organization has handed out this academic award.
Earning spots on the ACHA All-American Scholar list were recent graduates Stephen Klein '18 (Saskatoon, Sask.), Mark McLellan '18 (Surrey, B.C.) and Braeden Quast '18 (Mullica Hill, N.J.), along with rising seniors Henry Cutting '19 (Madison, Wis.), Jimmy McKee '19 (Darien, Conn.) and Kamil Tkaczuk '19 (Oakville, Ont.). Rounding out the list of honorees were rising juniors Brett Dineen '20 (Marion, Mass.), Brian Ketchabaw '20 (Rye Brook, N.Y.), Owen Powers (Cheshire, Conn.) '20 and Danny Tighe '20 (Reading, Mass.).
