A pair of captains from the Middlebury College men's hockey team was honored when the NESCAC announced its all-conference teams. Senior defenseman Louis Belisle (Repentigny, Que.) was named first-team All-NESCAC, while junior forward Derek Pimentel (Laval, Que.) earned second-team honors. The all-conference accolade is the first for each player of their respective careers.
Belisle has enjoyed an impressive senior season, leading the team with 19 goals along with six assists for 25 points. His 19 goals and 12 power play tallies both rank first nationally as well as the NESCAC among all defensemen. His five game-winning goals and 1.00 points per game place him in a tie for second and third in the NESCAC and Division III, respectively. Belisle's mark of .76 goals per game ranks fourth in the conference and sixth nationally. On February 24th, he was selected as the NESCAC Player of the Week after he registered three goals and an assist helping the Panthers grab the No. 4 seed and a home NESCAC Tournament quarterfinal game with wins over Amherst and Hamilton. The fourth-year Panther recorded at least one goal in 17 of Middlebury's 25 games this winter. In 100 career games, Belisle concludes his career with 42 goals and 31 assists for 73 points.
Pimentel earned a spot on the second-team following a solid third year donning the blue and white sweater. The junior posted team-highs with 27 points and 16 assists to go along with a career-best 11 goals having played in all 25 games. He scored in eight games this season including two-goal performances on November 17th against Colby and January 31st against Tufts. He also produced a pair of three-point efforts against Colby (2g, 1a) and in a victory against St. Michael's (3a) on January 3rd during the 21st Middlebury College Hockey Classic. Headed into his senior season, Pimentel has 17 goals and 35 helpers for 52 points.
