Middlebury College men’s hockey player Louis Belisle (Repentigny, Que.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. The senior registered three goals and an assist to help Middlebury secure the No. 4 seed and a home quarterfinal game for the NESCAC Championship with wins over Amherst and Hamilton. He gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead against Amherst, then assisted on the game-winning goal in the third period of a 3-2 win. Belisle tied the game at 2-2 versus Hamilton with a goal early in the third, then later put Middlebury ahead with the game-winning goal at the 11:52 mark.
He currently leads the team with 17 goals, while ranking second with 23 points to go along with six helpers and 10 power play goals (1st in NESCAC). The Panthers will host Bowdoin in a NESCAC Quarterfinal match-up on Saturday, March 1st at 4:00 p.m.
