  • Belisle Selected NEHWA Division II/III All-Star

    Just weeks after being named a first-team All-American, Middlebury College men's hockey senior Louis Belisle (Repentigny, Que.) added another honor to his resume when he was chosen as a Division II/III All-Star by the New England Hockey Writers Association (NEHWA). Early last month, Belisle notched first-team All-NESCAC laurels.
  • Belisle Named AHCA First-Team All-American

    Middlebury College men's hockey senior Louis Belisle (Repentigny, Que.) has been selected as a first-team All-American as a defenseman by the AHCA (American Hockey Coaches Association). The honor comes just weeks after he was named a first-team All-NESCAC recipient.
  • Belisle Selected First-Team All-NESCAC, Pimentel Named Second Team

    A pair of captains from the Middlebury College men’s hockey team was honored when the NESCAC announced its all-conference teams. Senior defenseman Louis Belisle (Repentigny, Que.) was named first-team All-NESCAC, while junior forward Derek Pimentel (Laval, Que.) earned second-team honors. The all-conference accolade is the first for each player of their respective careers.
  • Men's Hockey Falls To Bowdoin In NESCAC Quarters

    Middlebury saw its season come to an end as the fourth-seeded Panthers fell 6-3 to fifth-seeded Bowdoin (15-8-3) in a NESCAC Quarterfinal contest in Kenyon Arena. The Polar Bears will make their fifth-consecutive trip to the NESCAC semifinals with the win, earning their first post-season victory at Middlebury since 1993. The Panthers end their season with an 11-11-3 mark.
  • Men's Hockey To Host NESCAC Quarterfinal Game

    The Middlebury men's hockey team, the fourth seed in the NESCAC Tournament, will play host to Bowdoin for a NESCAC Quarterfinal game on Saturday, March 1st. The Panthers and the Polar Bears will face-off at 4:00 p.m. with the winner advancing to next weekend's NESCAC Championship weekend. 
  • Hockey Teams To Host NESCAC Quarterfinal Games

    The Middlebury men's and women's hockey teams will both host NESCAC Quarterfinal games on Saturday, March 1st. The women will take on Connecticut College at 1:00 p.m., followed by the men vs. Bowdoin at 4:00 p.m. Tickets, which gain you admission to both games ($6/$3), are on sale now at the Mahaney and McCullough box offices.   • Belisle Deemed NESCAC Player Of The Week

    Middlebury College men’s hockey player Louis Belisle (Repentigny, Que.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. The senior registered three goals and an assist to help Middlebury secure the No. 4 seed and a home quarterfinal game for the NESCAC Championship with wins over Amherst and Hamilton. 
  • Men's Hockey Defeats Hamilton To Earn Home NESCAC Quarterfinal

    Middlebury scored four third-period goals on its way to a 5-2 win over Hamilton in the regular-season finale on senior day. The Panthers (11-10-3, 9-7-2) have secured the fourth seed for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament and will host fifth-seeded Bowdoin on Saturday, March 1st at 4:00 p.m. in a quarterfinal contest. All six seniors who played in the contest for Middlebury earned at least one point in the game. 
  • Men's Hockey Tops Amherst, Controls Its Own Destiny

    With a 3-2 win over Amherst, Middlebury controls its own destiny for home ice in the NESCAC quarterfinals as they prepare to host Hamilton on Sunday. The Panthers (10-10-3, 8-7-2) outshot the Jeffs 33-18 on the night, and will face-off against the Continentals at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow. Amherst (13-7-3, 11-4-2) will wrap up its regular season at Williams on Sunday.
  • Belisle’s Overtime Game-Winner Lifts Men’s Hockey Past No. 12 Williams

    Louis Belisle scored with 40 seconds left in overtime and lifted Middlebury past 12th-ranked Williams by a 2-1 score during a physical and exciting NESCAC game Saturday evening in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers improve to 9-10-3 overall and 7-7-2 in conference play, while the Ephs fall to 13-6-3 and 9-4-3 in the league. Middlebury stays on home ice next Saturday for a 7:00 p.m. game against Amherst, while Williams hosts Hamilton on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
  • Men's Hockey Picks Up A Point At Williams

    Middlebury earned a 1-1 road tie at Williams in a game played Friday night in Lansing Chapman Rink. The Panthers (8-10-3, 6-7-2 NESCAC) will host game two of the series on Saturday night, as the Ephs (13-5-3, 9-3-3 NESCAC) come to Kenyon Arena for a 7:00 p.m. start.
  • Wesleyan Holds On For Win Over Men's Hockey

    Wesleyan netted a pair of goals 21 seconds apart midway through the first period on its way to a 2-1 win over Middlebury (8-10-2, 6-7-1) in a NESCAC road contest for the Panthers. The Cardinals (10-8-2, 5-8-1) earn just their third win over Middlebury in 42 all-time meetings, as the Panthers hold a decisive 37-3-2 advantage in the series.
  • Late Surge Not Enough As Men's Hockey Falls At Trinity

    The Middlebury men's hockey team dropped a 5-3 road game at Trinity on Saturday night. Michael Hawkrigg tallied two goals and an assist to lead Trinity to the win on Williams Rink at the Koeppel Community Sports Center. Trinity, ranked No. 11 in the nation, improves to 15-4 overall and 10-3 in the NESCAC, while Middlebury drops to 8-9-2 overall and 6-6-1 in the league. 
  • Men’s Hockey Falls to Connecticut College, 2-1

    Middlebury out shot Connecticut College by a 34-15 margin but could only muster up one goal in a 2-1 setback in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers fall to 8-8-2 overall and 6-5-1 in conference play, while the Camels improve to 5-12-1 and 4-8-0 in the league. Middlebury hits the road next Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. game against Trinity, while Connecticut College plays Tufts on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
  • Pimentel Scores Twice, Men’s Hockey Shutouts Tufts

    Derek Pimentel scored two third-period goals and Liam Moorfield-Yee recorded his first career shutout, leading Middlebury to a pair of critical NESCAC points in a 3-0 win over Tufts Friday evening in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers improve to 8-7-2 overall and 6-4-1 in conference play, while the Jumobs drop to 3-14-0 and 1-10-0 in the league.
  • Wiggins Honored By The NESCAC

    Middlebury College men’s hockey player Ben Wiggins (Cambridge, Mass.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. Wiggins scored three goals and added an assist in a pair of road games for Middlebury. After scoring a goal Friday night at Bowdoin, the senior defender scored twice and added an assist in a 5-2 victory at Colby.
  • Men's Hockey Earns Road Win At Colby

    The Middlebury men's hockey team broke a three-game skid, earning a 5-2 NESCAC road win at Colby on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers broke a 1-1 tie with three goals in the second period on their way to the win at Alfond Rink. Middlebury moves to 7-7-2 overall and 5-4-1 in conference play, while the Mules drop to 9-6-3 and 6-5-1 in the league.
  • Bowdoin Slips Past Men's Hockey In Overtime

    Mitch Barrington scored the game-winning goal 50 seconds into overtime to lift Bowdoin to a come-from-behind 5-4 win over Middlebury on Friday night at Watson Arena. The Polar Bears, who netted the game-tying goal with 33 seconds left in regulation, improve to 10-4-2 (6-4-1, NESCAC) on the season. The Panthers fall to 6-7-2 (4-4-1, NESCAC) with the loss.
  • Men’s Hockey Scores a Pair Late, Falls to No. 5 Norwich

    Despite two Middlebury goals in the third period, the Panther men’s hockey team fell to Norwich by a 5-2 tally in the 147th meeting between the two rivals on Saturday night at Kreitzberg Arena. Norwich (12-3-2) got goals from five different players in the victory as Middlebury leads the all-time series 80-59-8.
  • Men's Hockey Falls To Third-Ranked Plattsburgh

    Middlebury gave third-ranked Plattsburgh (14-1-2) all it could handle, but the Cardinals emerged with a 4-2 win in Kenyon Arena on Friday night. The Panthers (6-5-2) are back at it tomorrow evening at Norwich, while the Cardinals visit Williams.

    Middlebury senior goaltender Nick BonDurant posted his first shutout this season and second of his career leading the Panthers (6-4-2, 4-3-1) to a 5-0 blanking of Wesleyan (7-4-1, 2-4-0) in NESCAC action inside Kenyon Arena. The game marks the 41st meeting between the two schools with Middlebury holding a decided 37-2-2 advantage.

    Bill Beaney earned his 500th win at Middlebury as the Panthers (5-3-2) captured the 21st Middlebury College Holiday Classic with a 3-1 win over Neumann (5-4-3) in Kenyon Arena. Now in his 27th year at the helm, Beaney owns a record of 500-164-47 behind the Panther bench. He boasts a career record of 586-240-55 over 34 years, with more Division III wins than any coach in the history of the game.
  • Big Third Period Lifts Men's Hockey Past St. Michael's

    Middlebury scored four third period goals on its way to a 6-2 win over St. Michael’s at the 21st Middlebury College Holiday Classic. The Panthers (4-3-2) will take on Neumann, who advanced via shootout after a 2-2 tie with Southern Maine, in the finals on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
  • Holiday Classic To Support Alzheimer's

    To help raise awareness and support for the services available across our state, the Middlebury College men’s hockey team has partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association, Vermont Chapter for an Alzheimer’s Awareness weekend during their Holiday Classic Tournament on Jan. 3-4 at the Kenyon Arena. Attendees can join the team in supporting the mission of the Alzheimers Association by making a $5.00 donation at the door and by participating in the 50/50 raffle sponsored by Friends of Panther Hockey.

    Middlebury dropped its second straight NESCAC road game, falling 4-3 at Hamilton in a contest played at Russell Sage Rink. The Continentals (3-3-1, 2-3-1 NESCAC) scored three third-period goals to stretch their unbeaten streak to three games and snap a three-game losing streak to Middlebury. The Panthers fall to 3-3-2, 3-2-1 in NESCAC play.

    The Middlebury men’s hockey team suffered a 4-1 loss at 12th-ranked Amherst on Friday night.  The Panthers outshot their opponents 24-20, but gave up three third period goals in the loss. Middlebury returns to action on Saturday at Hamilton.
