  • Plattsburgh To Host 2013 PrimeLink Tourney

    The Plattsburgh State Cardinals will host the 2013 PrimeLink Great Northern ShootOut at the Stafford Ice Arena located in Plattsburgh, New York. Middlebury and Norwich will meet at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29th, with the Cardinals set to take on Wisconsin-Superior at 7:00 p.m. 
  • Men's Hockey To Offer Free Admission

    Due to the construction of a new field house around the Middlebury College athletics complex, there will be no admission charged for men's hockey regular season home games this season. The Panthers open the ’13-’14 campaign on Saturday, November 16th at 7:00 p.m. against Bowdoin.
  • Latreille & Fisher Earn Vermont Sports Hall Of Fame Nods

    The Vermont Sports Hall of Fame announced its second class of inductees on Monday, September 9th at historic Centennial Field. Among those inductees were former Middlebury College athletes Phil Latreille ’61 and Ray Fisher '10.

  • Men's Hockey Ends Season In NESCAC Semifinals

    Middlebury saw its season come to an end with a 4-2 loss in the NESCAC semifinals at Bowdoin. Danny Palumbo scored a pair of first-period goals to lead Bowdoin to the win on  Saturday afternoon at Watson Arena. The fifth-seeded Panthers end their season with a mark of 13-11-2.
  • Donahoe Named All-NESCAC - Silcoff Is Rookie Of The Year

    Two members of the Middlebury College men’s hockey team were honored when the NESCAC announced its all-conference teams. First-year player Matt Silcoff (Thornhill, Ont.) was named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year, while junior defenseman Robbie Donahoe (Canton, Mass.) earned second-team honors. The duo will help lead the team into this weekend’s NESCAC semifinal match-up at Bowdoin on Saturday.

    The Middlebury College men's hockey team has advanced to the semifinal round of the NESCAC Tournament for the 13th time in 14 years. The Panthers will travel to Bowdoin to take on the Polar Bears on Saturday, March 2nd at 4:00 p.m. Williams will take on Trinity at 1:00 p.m. with the title game scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Ticket information will be available on Tuesday.
  • Men's Hockey Knocks Off Amherst - Headed To NESCAC Semi's

    Middlebury advanced to the NESCAC semifinals for the 13th time in 14 years as they held on for a 4-3 upset win at Amherst. The fifth-seeded Panthers (13-10-2) received a pair of third period goals from Louis Belisle on its way to the victory over fourth-seeded Amherst (15-7-3) at Orr Rink.

    The Middlebury men's hockey team will travel to Amherst for a NESCAC Quarterfinal game on Saturday, February 23rd. The Panthers and Jeffs will face-off at 1:00 p.m. with the winner advancing to next weekend's NESCAC Championship weekend.

    The Middlebury men's hockey team lost for just the second time in its last eight games, falling at 10th-ranked Amherst 5-3 in the regular season finale for both teams. Final NESCAC standings will not be available until Monday night, when Bowdoin and Trinity play a make-up game which will have a significant impact on the standings.

    Middlebury's Matt Silcoff posted two goals and an assist as the Panthers defeated Hamilton 6-1 in a NESCAC game at Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Feb. 15. Middlebury (12-9-2 overall, 11-4-2 NESCAC) led 4-0 before the midway point of the first period and have won six of their last seven games.
  • Men's Hockey Earns Victory Over Williams

    Middlebury earned a split of a two-game set with Williams (12-7-3, 9-5-2), topping the Ephs 3-1 in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers (11-9-2, 10-4-2) have now won five of their last six games, returning to action next Friday at Hamilton.

    The Middlebury men’s hockey team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end with a 6-2 loss at Williams on Saturday. The home-and-home  series continues on Sunday when the Ephs (13-5-3, 10-3-2) visit the Panthers (10-9-2, 9-4-2) for a 4:00 p.m. game in Kenyon Arena.
  • Weather Forces Several Postponements - UPDATED AGAIN!

    Due to the impending storm expected to blanket the northeast, several schedule changes have occurred for Middlebury College Athletic events. The men’s and women’s NESCAC basketball games scheduled for Friday, February 8th vs. Trinity have been moved to Sunday, February 10th. The men will play at 5:00 and the women will follow at 7:00. Saturday’s games vs. Amherst have now also been postponed. The men’s game will be made up on Tuesday, February 12th at 7:00 p.m., while the women will play on Wednesday, February 13th at 7:00 p.m. 
  • Men's Hockey Moves Into Second Place Tie

    Middlebury won its fourth straight game as the Panthers picked up a 3-2 win over Trinity in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers  improve to 10-8-2, 9-3-2 in the NESCAC and return to action next Friday night when they host Williams. The Bantams fall to 11-5-3, 8-3-3 in NESCAC play.
  • Third Period Surge Lifts Men's Hockey Past Wesleyan

    Middlebury broke open a 3-3 game with three unanswered goals in the third period on its way to a 6-3 win over Wesleyan (9-8-2, 5-6-2) on Friday night in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers (9-8-2, 8-3-2) outshot Wesleyan 36-17 in the game and will return to action on Saturday when they host Trinity at 4:00 p.m.

  • Men's Hockey To Wear Camouflage Jerseys To Benefit "Wounded Warrior Project"

    The Middlebury College men’s hockey team will look to raise money and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project during its home games on February 1-2. The Panthers will be wearing camouflage jerseys against Wesleyan on Friday at 7:00 and Trinity on Saturday at 4:00. The game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off via silent auction throughout the games and can be picked up following Saturday’s game.
  • Men's Hockey Holds On At Tufts

    Visiting Middlebury earned a sweep of its NESCAC weekend by hanging on for a 5-4 victory at Tufts in conference men's hockey action at Valley Forum II on Saturday afternoon. Louis Belisle and Brendan McGovern all scored a goal and an assist for the Panthers, who had defeated Connecticut College 4-1 on Friday night.

    Robbie Donahoe and Louis Belisle each earned a goal and an assist to lead visiting Middlebury to a 4-1 NESCAC victory against Connecticut College at Dayton Arena on Friday night. The Panthers improve their record to 7-8-2 while upping their mark to 6-3-2 in conference play.
  • Bowdoin Tops Men's Hockey

    Fourth-ranked Bowdoin avenged one of only two blemishes on its schedule, as the Polar Bears blanked Middlebury 3-0 in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers (6-8-2, 4-4-2) previously earned a 4-4 road tie at Bowdoin (15-1-1, 10-1-1) back on November 17th. The Panthers return to action next weekend at Connecticut College and Tufts, while Bowdoin hosts Southern Maine on Tuesday.

    Chris Brown scored the game-winner 5:01 into the third period to lift Middlebury to a 5-3 win over Colby in Kenyon Arena. Middlebury held a 38-21 shots advantage in the game as Liam Moorfield-Yee made 18 saves in goal to pick up his first career win. The Panthers (6-7-2, 5-2-2) return to action on Saturday when they host Bowdoin at 4:00 p.m., while Colby (3-12-1, 1-9-1) visits Williams.

    The Panther men's hockey team dropped a non-league game at Plattsburgh on Friday night, falling 7-1. The Panthers fall to 5-7-2 overall, returning to action next weekend when they host Colby and Bowdoin on Friday and Saturday in Kenyon Arena.

The Cadets improve to 12-1 on the season, while the Panthers fall to 5-6-2. Middlebury returns to action on Friday night when they visit 10th-ranked Plattsburgh on Friday night.

    Trinity’s Ben Coulthard made a career-high 53 saves to lead his team to a 2-1 victory over visiting Middlebury in NESCAC hockey at Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center.  Trinity, ranked No. 15 in the nation, moves to 6-3-2 overall and 3-1-2 in the NESCAC while snapping a five-game winless streak against the Panthers.

    Middlebury outshot Wentworth 17-6 in the third period but could not earn the equalizer as the 12th-ranked Panthers (4-4-2) fell 3-2 to the Leopards (6-5-1) in the third place game of the 20th Annual Middlebury College Holiday Classic. Middlebury finished the contest with a 33-19 shots advantage as they return to NESCAC play at Wesleyan and Trinity this weekend.

    Babson held off a late charge by Middlebury to pick up a 2-1 win over the 12th-ranked Panthers (4-3-2) in Kenyon Arena. The Beavers (6-2-2) advance to the championship game of the Middlebury College Holiday Classic where they will take on Manhattanville, a 4-1 winner over Wentworth at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Middlebury will battle Wentworth in the third place game at 1:00 p.m.

    The Middlebury men’s hockey team will host the 20th Annual Holiday Classic Tournament on Sunday, December 30th and Monday, December 31st at the Kenyon Arena. Manhattanville will take on Wentworth at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday with the Panthers meeting Babson at 4:00 p.m. The consolation game will take place at 1:00 p.m. the following day with the title game slated for 4:00 p.m.  Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors, while Middlebury College I.D. holders are admitted for free.
