Middlebury scored five first period goals on its way to a 9-0 win over Tufts in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers held a 47-18 shots advantage in the contest, as Doug Raeder made 18 saves in goal to earn the shutout.
Middlebury came out firing in the first period, scoring four unanswered goals with an 18-5 shots advantage. Martin Drolet opened the scoring with some great stick-work down the middle before finishing with a shot past Scott Barchard. Bryan Curran made it a 2-0 game with a blast on a one-time feed from Mason Graddock. Ken Suchoski finished off a flurry in front for a power play goal at 7:56, before John Sullivan finished down low for a 4-0 lead at the 12:15 mark. Tucker Donahoe scored the final goal of the period with 1:32 remaining.
Martin Drolet scored with a shot up high on the power play just 32 seconds into the second period, before Charlie Townsend made it a 7-0 game. Sullivan netted his second of the contest later in the period, before Jamie McKenna scored the game's final goal on a power play 11:36 into the third.
Graddock ended the game with four assists, while Ken Suchoski had three. Sullivan and Drolet each scored twice, while Curran and McKenna each had a goal and an assist.
