Middlebury was only able to muster up a weekend split of its two NESCAC road games as they suffered a 3-2 loss at Hamilton. The Panthers out shot the Continentals 34-19, but could not capitalize on their opportunities.
Darwin Hunt gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead in the first period before Hamilton tied the game. Jeff Smith made it a 2-1 game in the second, before the Continentals came back to tie it once again. Hamilton scored the game winner at 14:15 of the third period and then held off a late charge by the Panthers.
Ross Cherry made 16 saves in goal for Middlebury.
