The Middlebury men's golf team sits in fifth place after 18 holes of action at the 2019 NESCAC Golf Fall Qualifier. Williams leads the field with a 291, followed by Amherst (295) and Tufts (296). Middlebury came in with a 300 on Saturday. Day two of the tournament will take place on Sunday, with the top-four teams advancing to the spring championship. The event is being hosted by Tufts at the Sandy Burr Country Club in Wayland, Massachusetts.
Jeffrey Giguere continued his red-hot fall, firing a 71 to place third, two strokes off the lead. Phin Choukas is in a tie for ninth place with a 74, followed by Jordan Bessalel, who's tied for 19th with a 76. Sean McGarrity and David Packer rounded out the squad, each carding a 79.
