Middlebury's Jeffrey Giguere claimed medalist honors at the 36th Annual Duke Nelson Tournament on his home course, finishing with a two-day total of 142 (70-72). New York University claimed the team title with a score of 579, edging Williams (589) and the host Panthers (590). Action took place Saturday and Sunday at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the Middlebury campus. The Panthers return to action next weekend at the Williams Fall Invitational.
Giguere topped the field of 118 golfers, finishing Sunday's round with a one-over par 72, holding off Williams' Will Kannegieser by a stroke (143), who shot a three-under 69 on the final day. Phin Choukas (74-74) and Jordan Bessalel (71-77) finished in a tie for 15th place as they each finished at 148. Chris Thompson carded a 76 (152) on each day to finish tied for 36th, while teammate John Mikus tied for 75th place with a 158 (79-79).
