Middlebury College men's golfers Reid Buzby (San Francisco, Calif.) and Phin Choukas (Hanover, N.H.) have been named to the Ping All-Northeast Region Team. The duo was part of a team that won the NESCAC Fall Qualifier, earning the right to host the spring championship. The Panthers had a strong spring by tying for first at the Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore and placing third at the Williams Spring Invitational.
Buzby earns his second All-Region honor after being named to the team in 2017. He is also a two-time first-team All-NESCAC selection (2015, 2019), earning second-team honors in 2016. Buzby's best finish of the fall came at the NEIGA Championship, where he took home medalist honors with a two-day total of 145 in the 114-man field. He tied for first the following weekend at Skidmore, shooting a 137, including a 66 on day two.
Choukas has a solid rookie campaign for the Panthers, shooting 75 or under on six different occasions. He placed eighth with a 148 (75-73) at the NESCAC Fall Qualifier and then finished third the following week at the Ekwanok Tournament with a 73. This spring, Choukas carded a 74 and 73 at the Williams Spring Invitational to finish 11th overall, while tying for ninth at the NESCAC Championship, including a 35 on day one.
