  • NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team Members Recognized
    May 30, 2019
    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2019 Spring All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury's 132 representatives, the second-highest total in the conference.
  • NESCAC Spring All-Sportsmanship Team Announced

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) announced its Spring All-Sportsmanship Team for each spring sport sponsored by the conference. The All-Sportsmanship Team is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. The student-athlete selected must be in good academic standing and a member of the team at the conclusion of the season in order to be eligible for selection. 
  • Buzby & Choukas Earn Regional Honors

    Middlebury College men's golfers Reid Buzby (San Francisco, Calif.) and Phin Choukas (Hanover, N.H.) have been named to the Ping All-Northeast Region Team. The duo was part of a team that won the NESCAC Fall Qualifier, earning the right to host the spring championship. The Panthers had a strong spring by tying for first at the Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore and placing third at the Williams Spring Invitational.
  • Buzby & Morin Earn All-NESCAC Honors

    Seniors Reid Buzby (San Francisco, Calif.) and Philippe Morin (Canton, Conn.) have both earned All-NESCAC honors for the men’s golf team. The duo were part of a team that won the NESCAC Fall Qualifier, earning the right to host the spring championship. The Panthers had a strong spring by tying for first at the Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore and placing third at the Williams Spring Invitational.
  • Men's Golf Finishes Third at NESCAC Championship

    The Panther men's golf team placed third as Trinity won its second-straight and third overall NESCAC Men's Golf Championship by four strokes over Hamilton on Middlebury's Ralph Myhre Golf Course. The Bantams shot a 27-hole total of 430, including a 281 on Sunday to capture the title. Hamilton finished second with a 434, followed by Middlebury (439) and Tufts (467).
  • Men's Golf One Stroke Off the Lead at NESCAC Championships

    Hamilton holds a one-stroke lead over Middlebury after one day of action at the 2019 NESCAC Championship. The event is being hosted by the Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the Middlebury campus. Day one consisted of nine holes of play, with the Continentals carding a 144. Middlebury shot a 145, followed by Trinity (149) and Tufts (159). Action concludes Sunday with an 18-hole round beginning at 11:00 a.m.
  • Panther Men’s Golf Hosts NESCAC Championship

    Middlebury looks for its fourth NESCAC Championship title in six years and its ninth overall when it hosts the 2019 NESCAC Men's Golf Championship. The two-day event will be held Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury, Vermont. Middlebury won the fall qualifier to earn the right to host the spring event and is hosting the NESCAC Championship for the seventh time since 2000-01 and the first time since the 2015-16 season. The 36-hole event gets underway at 11:00 a.m. each day.
  • Men's Golfers Place Third at Williams

    The Middlebury men’s golf finished third among nine teams at the Williams Spring Invitational. Trinity won the event with a 572, followed by Williams (573) and the Panthers (585). Action took place at the Taconic Golf Club Championship course. Middlebury is back in action next weekend when it hosts the NESCAC Championship.

  • Men's Golf Ties For First at Skidmore - Buzby Fires 66

    The Middlebury men’s golf team opened up its spring season at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore at the Ballston Spa Country Club. The Panthers finished in a first-place tie with Trinity, as both teams came in with a two-day total of 573 at the 15-team event. Williams was a distant third with a 587. Middlebury returns to action next weekend at the Williams Spring Invitational.
  • Beaney to Be Inducted Into Vermont Sports Hall of Fame

    Long-time Middlebury College coach Bill Beaney will be inducted into the Vermont Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2019. The event will take place at Trader Duke’s Hotel in South Burlington on Saturday, April 13. Ticket information will be available soon on www.vermontsportshall.com.

  • Middlebury Places Third at NEIGA as Buzby Wins Medalist Honors

    The Panther men's golf team paced third among 23 teams competing at the 84th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship on Monday at The Captains Course. The team victory was the third in a row for Babson, who shot 300 on in the final round to claim a one-shot victory over Williams with a 36-hole total of 613. The Ephs posted a 304 total on Monday, while Middlebury shot 303 to finish in third place with a two-day total of 618. Husson (627) and Nichols (628) rounded out the top five. The event wrapped up the fall season for the Panthers.
  • Men's Golf Competes at Skidmore

    The Middlebury men's golf team placed fourth among nine teams competing at the Saratoga Invitational hosted by Skidmore at the Saratoga National Golf Course. Babson won in a tiebreaker over Trinity, each shooting a 590. RPI followed with a 592, three strokes ahead of the Panthers (595). Middlebury returns to action next weekend at the NEIGA Championship.

    The Middlebury men's golf team hosted Williams, Trinity and Hamilton at the fifth-annual Ekwanok College Tournament held at the Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester, Vermont. Eight golfers participated for each team, with the top-six scores counting for each squad.
  • Men's Golf Wins NESCAC Fall Qualifier - Will Host Spring Championship

    The Panther men’s golf team captured the NESCAC Fall Qualifier and has earned the right to host the four-team league championship on April 27-28, 2019. Middlebury finished with a two-day total of 587, one stroke ahead of Trinity (588) and five better than Hamilton (592). The Panthers return to action on Tuesday, October 9 at the Ekwanok Tournament.
  • Men's Golf Third After One Day at NESCAC Fall Qualifier

    The Middlebury men’s golf team sits in third place after 18 holes of action at the 2018 NESCAC Golf Fall Qualifier. Trinity leads the field with a 291, followed closely by Hamilton (292) and the Panthers (293). Day two of the tournament will take place on Sunday, with the top four teams advancing to the spring championship. The event is being hosted by Wesleyan at the Lyman Orchards Golf Club.
  • Panther Men's Golf Heads to NESCAC Qualifier

    Winners of five of the last eight NESCAC Tournament titles, Middlebury begins its quest toward number six this weekend when it heads to Connecticut for the 2018 NESCAC Men's Golf Fall Championship Qualifier. The 2018 NESCAC Men’s Golf Championship Fall Qualifier will take place on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30 at the Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middlefield, Connecticut. Wesleyan is hosting the fall qualifier for the first time since 2011. The 36-hole event tees off on Saturday at 10:33 a.m., while Sunday’s round will begin at 10:44 a.m. Both rounds will be played on the Robert Trent Jones, Sr. course.
  • Men's Golfers Compete at Williams Fall Invitational

    The Middlebury men’s golf team placed seventh out of 20 teams competing at the Williams Fall Invitational Tournament. The hosts won the event with a red-hot 588, followed by Husson (605) and Trinity (607), while the Panthers shot a 618. Action was contested at the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Middlebury returns to action next weekend at the NESCAC Qualifier hosted by Wesleyan.
  • Action Complete at Duke Nelson Tourney

    Williams captured the 36th Annual Duke Nelson Tournament hosted by Middlebury College. The Ephs shot a two-day total of 584, four strokes better than Trinity (588). The Panthers came in with an even 600, including a 297 on day two to place seventh among 22 teams. Action took place at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the Middlebury campus. The Panthers return to action next weekend at the Williams Fall Invitational.
  • Day One Complete at Duke Nelson Golf Tournament

    The Panther men's golf team opened up its fall season by hosting the 36th Annual Duke Nelson Tournament. Action is taking place at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the Middlebury campus. NYU leads the 22-team field with a 291, followed by Williams (293) and Johnson & Wales (294). Middlebury sits in sixth place with a 298 after 18 holes. Second-round play is set to tee off at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.

    The Middlebury men’s golf team enters the upcoming year seeking its third NCAA Tournament bid in the last five campaigns with a solid group of returners already in place. Winners of five of the last eight NESCAC Championships, the Panthers are primed to contend again in 2018-19.
