Three members of the Middlebury men's golf team have been named to the Division III Ping All-Northeast Region Team. Senior Rodrigo Andrade (Guatemala City, Guatemala) and sophomores Reid Buzby (San Francisco, Calif.) and Philippe Morin (Canton, Conn.) each earned a spot on the team. The threesome helped lead the Panthers to a second-place finish at this spring's NESCAC Championship.
Andrade is now a two-time All-Region selection for the Panthers. He was also a first-team All-NESCAC selection after holding a spot on the second team a year ago. He earned a season-best third-place finish at the NESCAC Qualifier in the fall, shooting a 72 and a 71. This spring, he carded a 76 and 74 to tie for sixth overall at the NESCAC Championship. He opened the fall with a fifth-place finish at the Middlebury Fall Classic. Andrade was also named a Srixon/Cleveland All-America Golf Scholar.
Morin also earned a spot on the All-Region team for the second-straight season. Last year, he was also named to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Freshman Team. Morin earned second-team All-NESCAC honors this season, placing third, second and second during his first three outings last fall. He shot a 143 (71-72) to place second at the Duke Nelson Tournament, while firing a 144 (71-73) the following weekend to finish second at the Williams Fall Invitational. Morin finished in a tie with Andrade at the spring's NESCAC Championship with a 150 (73-77).
Buzby is also a two-time All-NESCAC honoree, holding down a spot on the first team last season and second team this year. He opened the year with a win at the Middlebury Fall Classic, firing a two-day total of 146 (72-74). The following week, he came in third at the Duke Nelson Tournament, including a 70 on day two. Buzby kept it going at Williams, finishing fourth with a 147 (74-73) at the fall invitational.
