Juniors Tommy Eastman (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) and Jack Farrell (Verona, N.J.) of the Middlebury men's basketball squad were named to the 2020 All-NESCAC Second Team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. The Panthers are 20-5 entering the NCAA Tournament and are set to play Westfield State at SUNY Brockport on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
In his first year on the team, Eastman has recorded six double-doubles and has scored in double figures in 13-straight games. He enters the NCAA postseason ranked eighth in the conference, shooting 55.5% from the floor, while averaging 13.4 points per game. Eastman has scored 20 or more points in five contests this year and in the regular season home game finale against Bates, he tallied a career-high 28 points.
Farrell earned All-NESCAC honors for the second-straight season after holding a spot on the first team a year ago. He heads into the NCAA Tournament leading Middlebury with 16.9 ppg and 1.9 spg (second in NESCAC). Farrell is second on the team and in the conference with 3.4 apg and is second for the Panthers, averaging 4.7 rpg. He is shooting .484 from the floor, ranking second in the conference. Farrell has reached double figures in 24 of the Panthers 25 games this season. He eclipsed the 1,000 career points mark earlier in the season, and is now 17th on Middlebury's all-time list with 1,068. He set career highs in points (31), rebounds (eight) and assists (eight) this year.
