  • Men's Basketball to Offer Elite Prospect Camp
    April 29, 2015
    The Middlebury men's basketball program will offer an Elite Prospect Camp intended for players that have a strong desire to compete and aspire to play at the collegiate level. The camp will serve to introduce athletes to instruction and drills that are implemented at Middlebury College, as well as one-on-one instruction with the Middlebury College coaching staff and current players.
  • Winter NESCAC All-Academic Teams Released

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2014-15 Winter All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury’s 103 representatives, the second-highest total in the league.
  • Sinnickson Named Second Team All-NESCAC

    Middlebury College men's basketball player Dylan Sinnickson (Sands Point, N.Y.) has been selected as a second-team All-NESCAC honoree. The senior picks up his first career postseason accolade helping lead the team to a record of 17-7 this winter.
  • Men's Basketball Ends Season With Victory Over Amherst
    February 15, 2015
    Middlebury ended its season with a solid 82-69 win over Amherst (18-6, 6-4) on senior day in Pepin Gym. The Panthers conclude their campaign with a 17-7 mark, 4-6 in NESCAC play, but will unfortunately miss the NESCAC Tournament for the first time since 2005-06. Amherst has earned the fifth seed and will visit fourth-seeded Tufts next Saturday.
  • Trinity Holds Off Late Furious Middlebury Comeback Attempt

    Trailing by as many as 22 early in the second half, the Middlebury men’s basketball team had a furious comeback attempt fall just short in a 90-85 setback to Trinity in a physical game inside Pepin Gymnasium. The Panthers (16-7, 3-6) return to the court when they host Amherst on Sunday in the regular-season finale at 2:00 p.m. Middlebury needs a victory over the Jeffs coupled with a Wesleyan loss on Saturday at Williams to secure a NESCAC postseason bid. Trinity (19-5, 9-1) concludes its regular season and will host a NESCAC quarterfinal game on February 21.
  • Sinnickson Earns Academic All-District Honors

    Middlebury College men’s basketball player Dylan Sinnickson (Sands Point, N.Y.) has been named a 2015 Capital One Academic All-District I selection by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The senior forward owns a 3.40 GPA at Middlebury, with a double major of environmental studies/conservation biology and biology.
  • Men's Basketball Handles Lyndon State
    February 10, 2015
    Dylan Sinnickson matched a career-high with 27 points to lead Middlebury (16-6) past Lyndon State (8-13) via an 88-74 score in a non-league contest in Pepin Gym that was rescheduled from late January. The Panthers host their two final regular season games later this week as Trinity visits on Friday evening and Amherst stops by on Sunday afternoon to close out the NESCAC schedule. Lyndon returns home to host a pair of games this weekend as well, hosting Husson on Friday and Maine Maritime on Saturday.
  • Bowdoin Pulls Away to Top Men's Basketball Team

    Middlebury dropped its second-straight NESCAC road game, falling at Bowdoin by an 88-70 score on Sunday afternoon in Morrell Gym. The Polar Bears improve to 15-6 for the season and improve to 5-3 in conference play, while the Panthers drop to 15-6 overall and 4-3 in the league.
  • Middlebury Falls on the Road to Colby

    Middlebury landed four players in double figures led by Matt St. Amour with 18 points, but fell to Colby on Friday by an 84-80 score in a tightly-contested game. The Panthers (15-5, 3-4) return to the court Sunday with a 1:00 p.m. game at Bowdoin.
  • Men's Basketball Pulls Away From Keene State

    Dylan Sinnickson and Hunter Merryman scored 27 points apiece to lead Middlebury (15-4) to a win over Keene State (15-5) in Pepin Gym. The Panthers return to NESCAC play on Friday night at Colby, while the Owls will host Rhode Island College on Saturday.
  • Middlebury Knocks Off Hamilton in Overtime Thriller

    The Middlebury men’s basketball team scored eight of the first 10 points in overtime and never looked back, edging past Hamilton 82-77 in a key NESCAC game Sunday inside Pepin Gymnasium. The Panthers (14-4, 3-3) return to the court when they host Keene State on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., while Hamilton remains on the road and battles Tufts on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
  • Men's Basketball Suffers Road Loss at Williams

    Middlebury ran into red-hot shooting at Williams, as the Ephs shot .527 from the floor on their way to an 87-62 victory over the Panthers (13-4, 2-3) on Friday evening. Middlebury returns to action on Sunday when it hosts Hamilton at 2:00 p.m., while Williams (12-7, 3-3) visit Bates on Friday.
  • Men's Basketball Game Postponed
    January 26, 2015
    Due to the impending winter storm, the Lyndon State at Middlebury men's basketball game scheduled for Tuesday, January 27 has been postponed. The game will be made up on Tuesday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m. in Middlebury.
  • Men's Basketball Knocked Off By UMFK

    The Middlebury men’s basketball team saw a nine-game home winning streak come to an end with a 71-62 loss to the University of Maine Fort Kent on Saturday afternoon in Pepin Gym. The Bengals, a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), move to 6-10 on the season, while the Panthers fall to 13-3. Middlebury returns to action on Tuesday night when it hosts Lyndon State at 7:00 p.m.
  • Middlebury’s First-Half Runs Prove Too Much for Johnson State
    January 20, 2015
    The Middlebury men’s basketball team utilized runs of 7-0 and 14-0 in the first 12 minutes of play en route to a 102-54 home victory inside Pepin Gymnasium against Johnson State. Playing for the fourth time in the last eight days, the Panthers have been victorious in all four and improve to 13-2 overall, while the Badgers fall to 2-13. Middlebury, who sits at a perfect 6-0 at home this season, has a few days off before a Saturday game against Maine-Fort Kent at 1:00 p.m., while Johnson State plays on the road at Husson on Friday.
  • Men's Hoops Holds Off Conn. College

    Middlebury moved to 12-2 overall and evened its NESCAC record at 2-2 with a 63-59 win over Connecticut College (7-8, 0-3) in Pepin Gym. The Panthers return to action on Tuesday night when they host Johnson at 7:00 p.m., while the Camels entertain Wesleyan next Saturday.

    Jake Brown finished with a career-high with 14 assists and Dylan Sinnickson collected his ninth double-double of the season as Middlebury built a 27-point first-half lead en route to a decisive 97-60 win over Wesleyan in Pepin Gym. While both schools sit at 1-2 in NESCAC play, the Panthers improve to 11-2 overall, while the Cardinals fall to 11-5 for the season. Middlebury returns to conference action on Sunday, hosting Conn. College at 2:00 p.m., as Wesleyan hosts Baruch on the following day in a non-conference contest.

    Connor Huff scored a career-high 20 points as the Middlebury men’s basketball team landed 11 players in the scoring column during a 94-56 road victory Tuesday evening over in-state foe Castleton. The Panthers (10-2) will return to the court Friday evening and jump back into NESCAC play when they host Wesleyan at 7:00 p.m.

    Middlebury dropped its second NESCAC contest in three days as the Panthers fell 80-63 on the road at Tufts’ Cousens Gym on Sunday afternoon. Tarik Smith scored 20 points and Tom Palleschi added 18 to lead the Jumbos. Middlebury returns to action on Tuesday with a game at Castleton.
  • Men's Basketball Suffers First Loss of the Season

    The Middlebury men's basketball team suffered a 57-53 loss at Bates in the NESCAC opener for both squads. The Panthers (9-1, 0-1) will have Saturday off before a 2:00 p.m. tip-off at Tufts on Sunday afternoon. The Bobcats improve to 10-2 overall with the win and a 1-0 mark in league play.

    Middlebury broke open a close game against Salve Regina with a dominating 30-12 run in the final 10 minutes of the first half, as the Panthers cruised to a 94-66 win over the Seahawks in Pepin Gymnasium. The game opened the 2015 segment of the season for both programs as each team enjoyed an extended break from action. Both squads return to the court on Tuesday as Middlebury (8-0) travels Plattsburgh State in a non-league contest, while Salve Regina (3-7) hosts Endicott in a Commonwealth Coast Conference game.
  • St. Amour’s Layup in Final Seconds Lifts Middlebury Past Skidmore

    Middlebury concluded its semester with a bang via a 57-56 come-from-behind victory over visiting Skidmore on a layup from Matt St. Amour with 1.5 seconds left inside Pepin Gymnasium. Middlebury (7-0) has nearly a month off for finals and the holidays before it returns to action on Friday, January 2 when it hosts Salve Regina at 3:00 p.m., while Skidmore (3-4) hosts Potsdam next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

    Middlebury improved to 6-0 on the season with a 90-64 road win at St. Joseph’s of Vermont on Tuesday night. The Panthers shot 58.6% from the floor en route to the win. Middlebury returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Skidmore at 4:00 p.m.
  • Panthers Pull Away in Second Half from RPI for Home-Opening Victory

    Middlebury utilized a 7-0 run in a 53-second span during the second half Sunday and turned a three-point advantage to double figures, cruising to an 87-78 victory over Rensselaer in the team’s home-opener. Middlebury (5-0) returns to action Tuesday when it travels to St. Joseph’s (Vermont) for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
  • Sinnickson Named NESCAC Player of the Week

    Middlebury College men's basketball player Dylan Sinnickson (Sands Point, N.Y.) has been named the NESCAC Co-Player of the Week. Sinnickson earned Most Valuable Player honors for the second-straight weekend as Middlebury captured the Bridgewater State Tournament. The senior forward averaged 23.0 points and 15.0 rebounds per game, while shooting .469 (15-32) from the field and .416 (5-12) from beyond the arc as the Panthers topped Medgar Evers and Clark. He now has four double-doubles in as many games this season, leading the NESCAC with 22.0 points and ranking second with 13.8 rebounds per contest.
  • Panthers Win Bridgewater State Invitational, Sinnickson Named MVP

    The Middlebury men's basketball team captured its second tournament title in as many weekends when it won the Bridgewater State Invitational by defeating Clark (2-2) Sunday by a final of 72-67. Trailing by four, the Panthers (4-0) scored the final nine points in the final minutes for the victory. Middlebury returns to action next Sunday when it hosts Renesslaer for the team’s home-opening game at 2:00 p.m.
  • Men's Basketball Cruises Past Medgar Evers Into Tourney Final

    Middlebury cruised to a 99-45 victory over Medgar Evers College in the opening round of the Bridgewater State Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Tinsley Center. The Panthers (3-0) will take on Clark in the tournament championship game on Sunday afternoon at 2:00, while Medgar Evers (1-2) will face host Bridgewater State in the consolation game at noon.
  • Men's Basketball Wins UNE Tourney
    November 16, 2014
    The Middlebury men's basketball team captured the Ramada Roundball Invitational tournament at the University of New England by defeating the host Nor'easters (1-1) by a final of 69-67. A put-back by Connor Huff as time expired gave the Panthers (2-0) the victory. Middlebury returns to action next weekend at the Bridgewater State Tournament.
  • Men's Basketball Opens With Convincing Win

    Hunter Merryman, Dylan Sinnickson and Matt St. Amour combined for 75 points on 29-46 (.630) shooting to lead Middlebury to a 101-71 win over Mitchell in the season-opener for both teams. The victory came at the Ramada Roundball Invitational hosted by the University of New England. The Panthers return to action at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday when they play the host school for the tournament title.
