Men's Basketball Falls At St. Lawrence

St. Lawrence shot .547 from the field on its way to an 80-64 win over Middlebury. The Panthers, who were playing their third straight on the road to open the season, return to action at Castleton next Tuesday.

An evenly played first half saw the Panthers shoot well and take a 34-30 lead into the intermission.

The Panthers led 57-51 with 9:51 remaining in the second half, before the Saints went on a 17-0 run to take a 68-57 lead. Middlebury would cut the lead back to eight, but that's as close as they'd come.

Evan Thompson led the Panthers with 14 points, while Mike Walsh added eight.
