Middlebury College field hockey goalkeeper Grace Harlan (Groton, Mass.) has been named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Defensive Player of the Week. The accolade comes days after the Panther sophomore was selected as the NESCAC Player of the Week. Harlan posted a pair of shutouts in goal last week as Middlebury downed No. 9 Bowdoin 1-0 and blanked 18th-ranked Babson 2-0. After making two saves in the NESCAC road win against the Polar Bears, Harlan turned aside a career-high five shots in the team's win over the Beavers. She has allowed just one goal in 300 minutes of action for the Panthers.
Harlan and her teammates return to action on Saturday with an 11:00 a.m. home contest on Kohn Field against Hamilton.
