The Middlebury football team was honored when nine seniors added one more academic accolade to their respective careers, garnering recognition by the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society.
To earn a spot on the list, the student-athletes must have completed their final year of playing eligibility in 2018 and been starters or significant contributors throughout the season on the field. In the classroom, they must have achieved a 3.20 cumulative grade point average throughout entire course of undergraduate study and met all NCAA-mandated progress toward degree requirements.
Honored for the Panthers were wide receivers Conrado Banky and Jimmy Martinez, offensive linemen Ian Arthur, Parker Ferguson and Andrew Rogan garnered spots. Joining them were linebackers Clay Hunt, Michael Joncich and Kevin Maxwell, along with defensive lineman Roman Trevino.
The nine seniors were part of a highly successful four-year run, as the Panthers went 23-11 during that span, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the NESCAC standings during the 2017 season.
