Middlebury College kicker Carter Massengill (Summit, N.J.) has been named the NESCAC Special Teams Player of the Week. The rookie converted back-to-back field goals, lifting Middlebury to a 27-26 victory over Amherst, snapping the Purple & White's 21-game winning streak. The first-year kicker hit a 23-yarder with 5:31 remaining in the third quarter to cut Amherst's lead to two. Massengill, who was also 3-3 on extra points, added another field goal to open the fourth quarter for what proved to be the game-winning points for the Panthers. He and his teammates will visit Williams on Saturday for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
