Middlebury College alpine skier and team captain Hig Roberts (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) has been chosen to compete for the U.S. Alpine Ski Team in the World University Games in Trentino, Italy. Roberts, who is one of six members of the U.S. National University Team, is scheduled to compete in the slalom, giant slalom and Super G events in the Val di Fassa on December 15th, 17th and 19th.
Roberts has been a key part of the men’s alpine team at Middlebury that has captured the NCAA slalom title for the last two years. He is a two-time All-American at Middlebury and has earned All-East honors on three different occasions.
Roberts joins Yina Moe-Lang and David Donaldson as other Panther alpine racers currently competing internationally. Moe-Lange (Denmark) and Donaldson (Canada) are both skiing the World Cup circuit with hopes of making their respective Olympic teams.
