  • Ski Team Finishes 12th at NCAAs

    Middlebury finished 12th overall at the 2014 NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Utah. Denver won the NCAA title with 556 points, followed by Vermont (476) and New Mexico (458). The Panthers led all Division III schools taking part in the event.
  • Friday's NCAA Slalom Races Postponed

    Friday's slalom races at the NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Utah have been postponed due to weather and course conditions. The events have been moved to Saturday with the men getting underway at 11:00 a.m. EST at the Park City Mountain Resort. The nordic races will also be contested on Saturday, with the men’s 20K free mass start at Soldier Hollow at 11:30 a.m. EST, followed by the women’s 15K freestyle event at 1:00 p.m. EST.
  • Day One of Nordic Races Conclude at NCAAs

    One day of alpine and nordic racing are now complete at the 2014 NCAA Skiing Championships hosted by the University of Utah. Middlebury sits in 11th place overall, pacing all Division III schools. Denver leads the event with 299 points, followed by Utah (248), Colorado (241) and New Mexico (231). Action returns to Park City on Friday with the men’s and women’s slalom races beginning at 11:00 a.m. EST.
  • Ski Team Seventh After Day One At NCAAs

    The Middlebury ski team is currently in seventh place (58 points) after one day of competition at the 2014 NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Utah. The host school leads the event with 165 points, followed by New Mexico (130), Denver (130) and Colorado (128). Action resumes on Thursday with the women’s 5K classic at 12:00 p.m. EST, followed by the men’s 10K classic at 2:00 p.m. EST.
  • Skiers Head To NCAAs

    Middlebury will travel to Utah for the NCAA Skiing Championships from March 5-8. The University of Utah will serve as the host school for the event for the fifth time after the Panthers hosted in ’13. The alpine portion of the meet will be held at Park City Mountain Resort and the nordic races will be held at Soldier Hollow Resort.
  • Skiers Garner EISA & Academic Honors

    Five members of the Middlebury College ski team were honored when the EISA (Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association) announced its post-season awards. The group helped lead the Panthers to a third-place finish at the EISA Championships hosted this past weekend by Middlebury.
  • Roberts Wins Again, Ski Team Finishes Third At Middlebury Carnival

    Middlebury had a solid showing on day two, finishing the 2014 Middlebury Carnival/EISA Championship in third place overall. UVM won the event with 1,031 points, followed by Dartmouth (905), Middlebury (664) and Colby (641). Hig Roberts won his third-straight giant slalom event for the men’s alpine squad, covering the course in 1:54.75.
  • Ski Team In Third After Day One At Middlebury Carnival/EISA Championships

    One day of action is complete at the 2014 Middlebury Carnival, which is serves as the EISA Championships and NCAA Regional. Vermont leads the event with 492 points, followed by Dartmouth (476), Middlebury (337) and UNH (324). Action took place under tough conditions at both the Rikert Nordic Center and the Middlebury College Snow Bowl.
  • Ski Team To Host EISA Championships

    Middlebury College will host its 91st annual winter carnival on Friday, February 21st and Saturday, February 22nd The nordic races will be contested at the Rikert Nordic Center, while the alpine events will be held at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl. This weekend’s carnival will also serve as the Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association (EISA) Championships.
  • Big Second Days Earns Ski Team Third Place At Williams

    Middlebury had a strong second-day showing at the Williams Carnival, moving from a fifth place tie to sole possession of third place overall. Vermont won the carnival with 970 points, followed by Dartmouth (834), Middlebury (640) and Colby (588). Hig Roberts earned his second-straight win in the giant slalom to pace the men’s alpine team, which finished second in the event.
  • Day One Complete At Williams Carnival

    Middlebury is in a fourth-place tie after at the Williams Carnival after day one of competition. The slalom events were contested on Friday, while the nordic teams competed in relays. The men’s slalom team was stellar on day one, with four of the top-eight finishers.

    The Middlebury ski team slipped a spot to finish in fifth place overall at the Dartmouth Carnival. UVM won the event with 1,018 points, followed by Dartmouth (853), UNH (710), Colby (579) and the Panthers (562).  Alpine events took place at the Dartmouth Skiway, while nordic races were contested at the Craftsbury Nordic Center.

The men’s alpine team led the way on Friday, with Hig Roberts capturing the giant slalom to lead the men’s alpine team. Nordic events took place at the Craftsbury Nordic Center, while the alpine races were held at the Dartmouth Skiway.
  • Holt Earns EISA Honors

    Middlebury college nordic skier Stella Holt has been named the EISA Women's Nordic Skier of the Week. Last week at the nordic portion of the UVM Carnival, the junior turned in a pair of impressive performances in both events. She finished third in the classic sprint on Saturday, before placing fourth overall in Sunday's 5K freestyle race.
  • Hamilton, Carey & Whitcomb Among Former Panthers To Represent Middlebury At Winter Olympics

    Simeon “Simi” Hamilton ’09 will represent Middlebury College at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games taking place in Sochi, Russia. The former Panther Nordic racer, a geology major, will be taking part in his second Olympic games, after representing the U.S. in the 2010 games in Vancouver. Also representing the school will be Forest Carey ’00, serving as a U.S. Ski Team coach, while Matt Whitcomb '01 coaches the U.S. women's Nordic squad.
  • Nordic Events Cap The UVM Carnival

    The University of Vermont Carnival is complete, with Middlebury taking home a third place overall finish (672). The host school won the event with 857 points, followed by UNH (728), Middlebury and Dartmouth (635). On the final day of competition, the women’s nordic team earned a second place finish in the 5K freestyle event.
  • Nordic Team Races At Vermont Carnival

    Part two of the UVM Carnival began today as nordic sprint races were contested at the Trapp Family Lodge with alpine events completed in January. The Middlebury women won the sprint event, placing three skiers in the top 10.
  • Alpine Squads Complete UVM Carnival

    The alpine ski teams returned to action on Sunday, just one day after racing at the UNH Carnival. The team took part in day two of the UVM Carnival, which was postponed back on January 11th. The slalom event took place at Spruce Peak at the Stowe Mountain Resort.  The Panther men highlighted the day with a second place overall finish.
  • Ski Team Comes Away Fourth At UNH Carnival

    Middlebury finished fourth overall among 16 scoring teams at the 2014 University of New Hampshire Carnival. UVM won the event with 953 points, followed by Dartmouth (870), UNH (710) and the Panthers (697). The nordic races were contested at the Jackson Touring Center in Jackson, N.H., while the slalom was held at Canon Mountain in Franconia, N.H.
  • Men's Alpine & Women's Nordic Teams Pace Ski Squad On Day One At UNH

    Action is underway at the third carnival of the season, with teams converging on the University of New Hampshire for this week’s action.  Vermont leads after the first day of racing, with Middlebury holding down the third spot. Nordic events took place at the Jackson Touring Center in Jackson, N.H., while the giant slalom was contested at Attitash Mountain Resort in Bartlett, N.H.
  • Panthers Claim Third At Colby Carnival

    Middlebury improved one spot to finish third overall at the Colby Carnival in Maine. Vermont won the event with 1,012 points, followed by Dartmouth (882), Middlebury (682) and UNH (620). The men’s slalom team turned in the top performance on day two with two racers in the top 10.

    Middlebury sits in fourth place after one day of racing at the 2014 Colby College Carnival in Maine. Vermont leads the event with 473 points, followed by Dartmouth (444), Colby (361) and the Panthers (329). Action resumes on Saturday with the alpine slalom races as well as men’s and women’s nordic events.

  • Day Two Of UVM Carnival Postponed

    Due to weather conditions, day two of the alpine portion of the UVM Carnival has been postponed. No make-up date has been announced at this time.
  • Alpine Team Opens Carnival Season At Vermont

    The Middlebury alpine ski team opened its carnival season by competing at the University of Vermont Carnival on Friday. The Panthers sit in fourth place after day one, with the Catamounts leading the event. All races were held at Spruce Peak at the Stowe Mountain Resort, with the giant slalom event taking place on day one. 
  • Former Panther Wins World Cup Race

    Simi Hamilton '09 of Aspen, Colo., led qualifying and powered his way through the heats for a win, taking a World Cup stage victory in the Tour de Ski at Lenzerheide. It was the first win ever by an American man in the grueling Tour. 
  • Roberts Seventh In GS At World University Games

    Hig Roberts has earned a seventh place finish in the giant slalom at the World University Games in Trentino, Italy. The Panther is a senior on the Middlebury alpine team and is representing the U.S. at the games. He turned in a blazing first run and sat in second place, before ending the event with a seventh place finish. 
  • Roberts To Compete For U.S. At World University Games

    Middlebury College alpine skier and team captain Hig Roberts (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) has been chosen to compete for the U.S. Alpine Ski Team in the World University Games in Trentino, Italy. Roberts, who is one of six members of the U.S. National University Team, is scheduled to compete in the slalom, giant slalom and Super G events in the Val di Fassa on December 15th, 17th and 19th.
  • Moe-Lange Competes At World Cup

    Middlebury alpine skier Yina Moe-Lange recently competed in her first World Cup GS in Beaver Creek, Colorado. Representing Denmark, Moe-Lange had a solid first run but was unable to make the top 30 cut for the second run. Middlebury assistant alpine coach Abby Copeland was on hand, also earning her first World Cup coaching experience. Moe-Lange is taking the semester off at Middlebury while training and racing for Denmark, with hopes of qualifying for the 2013 Sochi Olympics.
