The Panther ski teams raced to a second place finish at the second carnival of the season. Vermont won, with Dartmouth in third and UNH in fourth.
Junior Lindsay Brush (Charlotte, Vt.) paced the women's alpine team in the GS, finishing third with a time of 1:05.13. Placing fourth was sophomore Megan Hughes (Killington, Vt.) in 1:05.28, followed by first-year racer Tucker Burton (Breckenridge, Colo.) in eighth (1:06.51).
Hughes led the team in the slalom race with a third place finish in 1:44.06. Placing seventh was first-year skier Mattie Ford (Plymouth, N.H.) with a time of 1:46.39, followed by Burton in 10th (1:47.27).
First-year racer Andrew Wagner (Traverse City, Mich.) led the men's team in the GS race with a fifth place finish in 2:06.17. Finishing sixth was sophomore Richard Davisson (Bethel, Maine) with a time of 2:06.19, followed by sophomore Alex Tarberry (N. Conway, N.H.) in 11th (2:06.78).
Sophomore Clayton Reed (Stowe, Vt.) led the team in the slalom race, finishing fourth with a time of 1:38.18. Finishing 12th was junior Andrew Everett (Andover, Mass.) in 1:39.67, followed by Davisson in 22nd with a time of 1:42.92.
First-year racer Cassidy Edwards (Glen Arbor, Mich.) picked up a win for the nordic women in the 5K classical race, capturing the event with a time of 17:19. Placing fourth with a time of 17:41 was junior Evelyn Dong (Wayland, Mass.), followed by first-year racer Robyn Anderson (Stowe, Vt.) in 10th (18:17).
Senior Garrott Kuzzy (Minneapolis, Minn.) picked up a win for the men in the 10K classical race, finishing with a time of 24:26. Placing fourth was first-year racer Tim Reynolds (Bristol, Vt.) with a time of 25:36, followed by senior Donovan Dums (Hayward, Wis.) in ninth (26:26).
Middlebury placed both the third and sixth place teams in the 4x5 mixed relay race. Coming in third place were Kuzzy, Reynolds, Edwards and Dong. Placing sixth were Dums, senior Jake Whitcomb (Worthington, Mass.), senior Claire Anderson (Whitefish, Mont.) and junior Jenny Hamilton (Aspen, Colo.).
