Volleyball Sweeps Two Opponents in Ramapo Tri-Match

The Middlebury volleyball team eased past two opponents last weekend during the Ramapo Tri-Match. The Panthers swept New York University (25-19, 30-28, 25-22) on Friday evening, followed by a three-set victory Saturday over the host Roadrunners (25-16, 25-13, 25-8).

  • Seniors Isabel Sessions (Chicago, Ill.) and Sarah Staver (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) paced the Middlebury offense against NYU with 12 and nine kills, respectively.
  • Junior Chellsa Ferdinand (Queens, N.Y.) handed out a match-high 26 assists to go along 12 digs. Classmate Gigi Alper (Mill Valley, Calif.) dug up 16 balls, while Sessions added 14 to complete her double-double.
  • Against Ramapo, Sessions and Staver led the offense with 14 and 12 kills, respectively. Ferdinand handed out a match-high 22 assists to go along four service aces. Alper dug up 12 balls, while Staver added a career-best five service aces.
