Ghaeli Wins Molloy North Consolation Title at CSA Individual Championships

Middlebury men's squash rookie Justin Ghaeli (Richmond Hill, Ont.) won the consolation draw of the Molloy Cup North bracket during the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships. The three-day event was held at the Moses Brown's School's Nicol Squash Club in Providence, Rhode Island.   

  • Competing in the main draw's round of 16, Ghaeli fell in three games Friday afternoon. Later that day in the consolation bracket, he rebounded for a three-game triumph. The next day, Ghaeli advanced to the final with a three-game triumph.
  • During Sunday's final, Ghaeli bested Drexel's Luke Willemese in four games to win the title (11-6, 10-12, 11-8, 11-9).
  • The 2019 NESCAC Rookie of the Year and first-team all-conference selection completes his first season with a record of 15-10, including a 3-1 record this weekend.
