The Panthers were defeated by #2 Elmira on Saturday by a score of 4-1, but Middlebury rebounded for a 3-2 overtime victory during Sunday’s consolation game against fourth-ranked Gustavus Adolphus. Rookie Maddie Winslow (Manchester, Vt.) was named to the all-tournament team as she scored the game-winner 1:09 into overtime during Sunday’s win.
The Middlebury men’s hockey team dropped a pair of games while hosting the 17th-annual PrimeLink Great Northern Shootout inside Kenyon Arena. The Panthers scored three-straight goals on Friday evening but fell to Concordia (Minn.) 4-3. A day later, Middlebury was defeated in the consolation game by third-ranked Plattsburgh State by a 4-2 score. Junior Ronald Fishman (Roslyn, N.Y.) was selected to the all-tournament team. Concordia won the tournament in a shootout (2-1) after a 2-2 tie with Norwich in the title game.
