  • NESCAC Spring All-Sportsmanship Teams Announced
    June 13, 2017
    The New England Small College Athletic Conference announced its Spring All-Sportsmanship Team for each spring sport sponsored by the conference. The All-Sportsmanship Team is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. The student-athlete selected must be in good academic standing and a member of the team at the conclusion of the season in order to be eligible for selection.
  • Seven Panthers Inducted to Phi Beta Kappa

    Seven Middlebury athletes were recently inducted into the College's Phi Beta Kappa chapter. Tom Dils (men's soccer) and Hannah Blackburn (volleyball) join honorees Noel Antonisse (men's swimming & diving), James Burke (football), Melanie English (volleyball), Kate Reinmuth (women's soccer) and Day Robins (women's soccer) who were inducted during the Fall Family Weekend in October.
  • Middlebury Finishes Seventh in Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings

    Middlebury has finished seventh among 325 colleges and universities that registered points in the 2016-17 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings. The Panthers earned their 14th-straight top-10 finish, highlighted by winning the cup in 2011-12.

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2017 Spring All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.40. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury's 90 representatives.
  • Middlebury Announces Class of 2017 For Its Hall of Fame

    Middlebury College today announced its 2017 class of inductees into the Middlebury Athletics Hall of Fame. The fourth class to be inaugurated, this year’s group includes graduates from five different decades, from as early as 1963 and as recent as 2002. The group combined to play nine different sports at the College. One honoree is being recognized for his service as a coach and administrator.

To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.40. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury's 128 representatives, the highest among the 11 conference institutions.

  • Foote to Be Inducted Into Vermont Sports Hall of Fame

    Long-time Middlebury College coach Missy Foote will be inducted into the Vermont Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2017. The event will take place at the Doubletree by Hilton Burlington on Williston Road in South Burlington on Saturday, April 22. Ticket information will be available soon on www.vermontsportshall.com.
  • Happy Holidays from Middlebury Athletics

    The Middlebury College Department of Athletics would like to wish you and yours a very Happy Holiday season! The Panthers are idle until December 29 when the men's basketball team takes on Illinois Wesleyan at 5:30 p.m. in the College of Staten Island Tournament of Heroes. The women's basketball team plays the next day at 5:30 p.m. against host Springfield in the Hampton Inn West Springfield/Naismith Classic. The calendar year concludes with the Middlebury men's hockey team hosting its annual Holiday Classic in Kenyon Arena on December 30-31 when the Panthers welcome Saint Anselm, SUNY Canton and Manhattanville.

    The Middlebury Athletics Hall of Fame, now in its third year of existence, inducted six former student-athletes and coaches during a festive awards ceremony and dinner on November 5 in Nelson Recreation Center.

  • Palmer Joins Sports Medicine Staff

    Middlebury College has announced the hiring of Chris Palmer as an assistant athletic trainer. Palmer comes to Middlebury from the NHL’s St. Louis Blues, where he has served as an assistant trainer for the past four seasons.
  • Three Middlebury Alumnae Will Represent USA at Rio Olympics

    When the 31st Olympiad opens on August 5 in Rio de Janiero, three Middlebury alumnae will be among the athletes representing the United States of America.
