  • Middlebury Finishes Second in Director's Cup Standings

    After another impressive season, Middlebury College has finished second in the U.S. Sports Academy Director’s Cup race. The Panthers have finished in the top three for the past four seasons, with nine top-five finishes in the 12 years the cup has existed. Williams finished in first place, with Amherst in fourth and Tufts in 16th place. Points for the cup are awarded based on excellence in NCAA Tournament play.

  • Spring NESCAC Academic Team Announced

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2007 Spring All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached junior academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35.
  • Winter NESCAC Academic Team Announced

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2007 Winter All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached junior academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution.
  • NCAA Championship Hockey Tickets

    Tickets for the women's hockey NCAA Championships at Plattsburgh will be available at the door, or can be ordered by calling 518-564-2121. Men's championships tickets for Superior, Wisconsin, can be purchased by using this form . This form must be faxed by noon on Thursday, March 15th.

  • Women's Teams Host Girl Scouts

    Several Middlebury College women's athletic teams were busy on January 28th as they hosted local girl scouts for a day on campus. Members of Middlebury's softball, lacrosse, soccer, field hockey, basketball, swimming and women's hockey teams were all involved with the event.

    It's been another solid start to the winter season for Middlebury College Athletic teams. The Panthers have a combined record of 28-12 as they enter the semester break. Middlebury returns to action on December 31st when the men's hockey team hosts the annual Holiday Classic Tournament at the Chip Kenyon Arena. Hobart battles Trinity at 1:00 p.m., while Middlebury hosts St. Anselm at 4:00 p.m. The consolation and championship games are slated for New Years Day at 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. From all of us in the Department of Athletics at Middlebury, Happy Holidays.
  • Longtime athletic department mentor Gail D. Smith takes on academic role

    After 29 years as a coach and administrator in the Middlebury College Athletic Department, Gail Smith has acquired a new role as associate professor in physical education. Her current responsibilities began in September and include teaching physical education courses in the fall semester. Long recognized as an advocate for women in sports at Middlebury College, Smith is currently in the dissertation phase of her doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies, with a focus on women's leadership in higher education.

  • Hockey Teams To Appear On CBS

    The three-time defending NCAA Championship hockey teams from Middlebury College will be a part of a program airing on CBS this Sunday, October 22nd. The program,
