Middlebury Drops Five-Set League Match at Hamilton

The Middlebury volleyball team fell to host Hamilton in five sets on Friday evening during NESCAC play in Margaret Bundy Scott Field House (25-20, 22-25, 21-25, 25-12, 15-10). The Panthers (16-7, 5-4) conclude their regular-season schedule Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. conference match at Williams.

Eliana Schaefer paced the Panthers with a career-high 15 kills, while Isabel Sessions also had 15 and Becca Raffel chipped in with 14 and 15 digs for her 11th double-double of the season. Emma Walsh dished out 51 assists and dug up 17 balls for the Panthers.

Gigi Alper posted a match-best 29 digs and Emily Kolodka tacked on 13, while Shea Golden and Raffel each had three service aces. Alice Roberts produced two block solos and three block assists, while Schaefer had five block assists for the visitors.

Dorothy Poucher led four Continentals in double figures with a match-best 16 kills, while Giuliana Rankin added 13. Kyndal Burdin tallied 55 assists and 10 digs, while Christine Zizzi recorded a team-best 25 digs. Kendall Searcy produced a match-high seven service aces, while Margaret O'Brien had four block solos and a block assists at the net for Hamilton.
