Skinner Runs to All-America Status in 3,000-Meter Steeplechase

Catie Skinner posted an All-American eighth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Saturday morning during the final day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Geneva, Ohio. The three-day event was hosted by the University of Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission at the SPIRE Institute.

On the track, Skinner posted a qualifying time of 10:57.63 during Thursday's preliminary, good for entry into Saturday's final. In Saturday's race, Skinner concluded a successful senior season by shaving more than seven seconds off her qualifying time with an eighth-place effort of 10:50.25 for All-American laurels.

During Thursday's women's 1,500-meter preliminary run, Sasha Whittle posted a time of 4:35.94, good for 14th place but just missed Saturday's final by 1.71 seconds.

Off the track, Devon Player took part in the javelin toss on Thursday afternoon. Her best throw covered 121'6", good for 20th place.
