Middlebury moved to 9-0 on the season as the Panthers earned a key NESCAC win over Bowdoin, by a score of 4-2 in the Kenyon Arena. The Panthers move to 6-0 in the league, while Bowdoin falls to 4-4, 3-1 in league play.
Middlebury took a 1-0 lead at the 6:48 mark as Annmarie Cellino drove to the goal from the right side and snapped a shot into the back of the net. The Polar Bears tied the game at 18:24 as Kristen Cameron made nice crossing pass to Beth Battin on the far side, for the game tying goal.
Bowdoin took a 2-1 lead 7:31 of the second period as Cameron circled the net before scoring with a backhander. Erika Nakamura answered for Middlebury just 2:23 later to tie the game the game at two. Emily Quizon gave the Panthers a 3-2 lead with 2:02 left in the second period as she converted a nice feed from Cellino at close range.
Middlebury gained some breathing room 2:59 into the third period as Ellen Sargent scored from the slot to give the Panthers a 4-2 lead. That would be the game's final goal as Middlebury held on for the win.
Kate Kogut made 21 saves in goal to earn the win, while Cat MacEachern made 17 stops for Bowdoin.
