Annmarie Cellino scored two goals to lead Middlebury to a 5-1 NESCAC road win at Hamilton. Emily Quizon added a goal and two assists, while Kate Kogut made 22 saves and improved her record to 16-2 in goal this season.
After more than 11 minutes of scoreless hockey, Middlebury lit the lamp four times in the last 8:13 of the first period. Erika Nakamura forced a turnover at the blue line and skated in alone on Hamilton goalie Caitlin Connelly for the first goal.
The Panthers went on the power play 31 seconds later and scored again with 7:09 left. Shannon Tarrant fired a slap shot that hit the post and came out to Lacey Farrell, who buried the puck in the net. Middlebury then scored with 5:02 remaining off a faceoff in its own zone. Quizon picked up a loose puck and found Cellino ahead at center ice. Cellino skated in by herself and made the score 3-0. The fourth goal of the period was Cellino from Quizon again on a breakaway with just 34 seconds left.
