  • Panther Profile - Senior Hope Matthews

    Hope Matthews ’18 is a member of both the Middlebury women’s golf and women’s squash teams. The Greenwich, Connecticut native is majoring in computer science and minoring in geology. It’s an unusual combination, she admits, but one that has added a wonderfully “unexpected twist” to her education.
  • NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team Members Honored

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2017 Fall All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.40. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury's 104 representatives, the highest among the 11 conference institutions.
  • Women's Golfers Earn NESCAC Honors

    Three members of the Middlebury women's golf team have earned All-NESCAC honors. Senior Katharine Fortin (Wellesley, Mass.) was named to the first team, while sophomores Chloe Levins (Rutland, Vt.) and Blake Yaccino (Kenilworth, Ill.) earned second-team honors. The Panthers competed in five events this fall and will resume their schedule in April.
  • Women's Golf Ends Fall at NESCAC Championship

    The Middlebury women’s golf team concluded its fall season with a third-place finish at the 2017 NESCAC Women's Golf Championship hosted by Williams at the Taconic Golf Club. The Ephs won the six-team event with a two-day total of 612, followed by Amherst (624) and the Panthers (628).
  • Day One Complete at NESCAC Women's Golf Championship

    Middlebury is in third place after one day of competition at the 2017 NESCAC Women’s Golf Championship hosted by Williams at theTaconic Golf Club. The hosts lead with a 306, followed by Amherst (307) and the Panthers (313). The six-team event resumes on Sunday with a 9:00 a.m. start.
  • Women's Golf Set for NESCAC Championship

    The Middlebury women's golf team looks for its first NESCAC Championship this weekend when it competes at the 2017 NESCAC Women's Golf Championship. The two-day event in its third year as the official conference tournament will be hosted by Williams at the Taconic Golf Club (par-71; 5,819 yards) in Williamstown, Massachusetts on October 7-8. The golfers will tee off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7 and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 8 in a shotgun start.
  • Women's Golf Finishes Second at George Phinney Classic

    The Middlebury women’s golf team placed second among 12 teams at the George Phinney Golf Classic at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course. Amherst trailed by a stroke after Saturday’s play, picking up the win with a two-day total of 638. The Panthers were next (641), with Williams a distant third (653).
  • 18 Holes Complete at George Phinney Classic
    September 30, 2017
    Day one is complete at the George Phinney Golf Classic at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the Middlebury campus. Middlebury and Amherst are battling for the top spot with the rest of the field 11-12 strokes back. The Panthers came in with a 320 through 18 holes, while the Mammoths shot a 321. Second-round play is set to tee off at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.

  • Women's Golf Finishes Fourth in Sizable Field at Mount Holyoke

    The Panther women’s golf team finished fourth among 18 teams in action at the Mount Holyoke Invitational hosted by The Orchards Golf Club. Williams took home the title with a 603, while the Panthers came in with a two-day total of 634. Middlebury returns to action next weekend when it hosts the George Phinney Golf Classic.
  • Women's Golf Places Third at Wellesley

    Middlebury finished third among six teams at the Ann S. Batchelder Invitational Tournament hosted by Wellesley at the Nehoiden Golf Club. The Panthers shot a solid 311 on Sunday to come in with a 630 overall. Amherst (619) and Williams (622) took home the top two spots. Middlebury returns to action next weekend at the Mount Holyoke Invitational.
  • Women's Golf Opens Fall Season at St. Lawrence

    The Middlebury women's golf team began its fall season with a second-place finish among 13 teams at the St. Lawrence Invitational. The Panthers shot a two-day total of 615, including a 303 on day two, while NYU pulled away from the field with a 589. The Panthers return to action next weekend at Wellesley.
  • 2017-18 Women's Golf Season Preview

    The Middlebury women’s golf team heads into the 2017-18 campaign poised to make a run at the NESCAC Championship, as the Panthers welcome back all but one player from last year’s roster. Middlebury finished in the top five in each of the eight tournaments it teed off in, including a runner-up performance at the conference championship last season.
