  • NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team Members Honored
    March 14, 2018
    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2017-18 Winter All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.40. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury's 147 representatives, the highest among the 11 conference institutions
  • NESCAC Winter All-Sportsmanship Team Announced

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) announced its Winter All-Sportsmanship Team for each winter sport sponsored by the conference. The All-Sportsmanship Team is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. The student-athlete selected must be in good academic standing and a member of the team at the conclusion of the season in order to be eligible for selection. 
  • Davis Tabbed to the All-NESCAC Second Team

    Middlebury College women's basketball player Maya Davis (Milton, Mass.) has been selected to the All-NESCAC Second Team. The sophomore forward picks up her first postseason accolade. Davis and the rest of the Panthers tallied a 17-8 record, earning the No. 4 seed for the NESCAC Tournament.
  • Panther Women Fall to Wesleyan in NESCAC Quarterfinals

    Fifth-seeded Wesleyan held off a furious comeback attempt by fourth-seeded Middlebury for a 63-62 victory in a NESCAC Quarterfinal game on Saturday in Pepin Gym. The Cardinals (17-7) advance to next weekend's semifinals where they play at top-seeded Amherst. The Panthers see their record fall to 17-8 with the loss.
  • Women’s Basketball Hosts Wesleyan in NESCAC Quarters
    February 13, 2018
    Middlebury starts its run toward the NESCAC Women's Basketball Championship when it hosts Wesleyan in a NESCAC Quarterfinal game on Saturday, February 17 at 3:00 p.m. in Pepin Gym. Admission is free for the contest. The winner advances to the semifinal round next weekend at the highest remaining seed and the champion earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
  • #1 Amherst Pulls Away in Second Half From Middlebury
    February 10, 2018
    The Middlebury women’s basketball team hung with top-ranked Amherst (24-0, 10-0) for two quarters, but the Mammoths pulled away in the second half for 68-41 victory on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams. Middlebury (17-7, 6-4) earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming NESCAC Tournament, and will hosting a quarterfinal match-up next weekend in Pepin Gym.
  • Strong Second Half Leads Women’s Basketball Past Hamilton

    Middlebury outscored visiting Hamilton 35-20 in the final two quarters, turning a six-point halftime deficit into a 53-44 NESCAC victory Friday in Pepin Gym. With the win, Middlebury clinched the No. 4 seed and earned the right to host a NESCAC Quarterfinal game next Saturday. The Panthers (17-6, 6-3) return to the court on Saturday when they host top-ranked Amherst at 3:00 p.m. in the regular-season finale, while the Continentals (14-9, 2-7) travel to Williams for a game at the same time.
  • Late Spurt Lifts Middlebury Past Colby

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team held Colby scoreless for the final 4:38 of the game, as the Panthers (16-6, 5-3) picked up a 55-48 road win over the Mules (9-12, 3-5) on Saturday afternoon. Middlebury returns to action on Friday when it hosts Hamilton at 7:00 p.m.
  • #3 Bowdoin Pulls Away In Second Half Over Middlebury
    February 02, 2018
    The Middlebury women's basketball team pushed #3 Bowdoin during Friday's first two quarters, but the Polar Bears (20-1, 6-1) pulled away in the second half for a 70-52 NESCAC victory. The Panthers (15-6, 4-3) return to action on Saturday at Colby beginning at 3:00 p.m.
  • Women's Basketball Cruises at Keene State
    January 30, 2018
    Middlebury outrebounded Keene State 46-22 on its way to a 71-51 road win over the Owls (3-17) on Tuesday night. The Panthers (15-5) return to action on Friday when they travel to third-ranked Bowdoin for a 7:00 p.m. game.
  • Second-Quarter Run Leads Middlebury Past Trinity
    January 28, 2018
    A 16-0 run to start the second quarter proved to be the difference, lifting the Middlebury women’s basketball team to a 62-50 victory over Trinity on Sunday in Pepin Gym. The Panthers (14-5, 4-2) return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Keene State for a 5:30 p.m. contest, while Trinity (13-7, 1-5) plays at Wesleyan on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
  • Middlebury Falls to Smith
    January 22, 2018
    Middlebury suffered its first loss of the season at home (6-1), falling to Smith 60-45 on Monday evening in Pepin Gym. The Panthers (13-5) are off until Sunday when they host Trinity in a NESCAC contest at 2:00 p.m., while the Pioneers (13-4) will entertain MIT on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
  • Middlebury Holds Off Late Comeback Attempt by Williams
    January 20, 2018
    The Middlebury women’s basketball team held off a late comeback attempt by host Williams (10-8, 2-3), earning a 57-54 NESCAC victory over the Ephs on Saturday. The Panthers (13-4, 3-2) are back in action on Monday when they entertain Smith at 6:00 p.m.
  • Third-Quarter Run Leads #8 Tufts Past Middlebury
    January 13, 2018
    Eighth-ranked Tufts (14-2, 3-1) went on a big third-quarter run, en route to a 61-45 win over Middlebury (12-4, 2-2) Saturday afternoon in Cousens Gym. The Panthers are off for a week before visiting NESCAC foe Williams next Saturday with a 3:00 p.m tip-off.
  • Women's Basketball Falls at Bates
    January 12, 2018
    Middlebury suffered its first NESCAC loss of the season, falling by a score of 60-57 at Bates (6-10, 1-2) on Friday night. The Panthers (12-3, 2-1) return to action on Saturday when they visit #8 Tufts for a 3:00 p.m. game.
  • Second-Half Defense Lifts Middlebury Past Castleton; Kaufman Eclipses 1,000-Point Plateau
    January 09, 2018
    Middlebury clamped down in the second half on the defensive end, limiting visiting Castleton to just 13 percent (3-23) on its way to a 63-39 victory Tuesday in Pepin Gym. Sarah Kaufman scored nine points in the win for the hosts, becoming the ninth player in the program’s history to surpass the 1,000-career point plateau with 1,001. The Panthers (12-2) return to action on Friday when they travel to Bates for a 7:00 p.m. contest, while Castleton (10-2) hosts Johnson State on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
  • Women’s Basketball Downs Wesleyan, 77-60

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team capped off an unblemished NESCAC home weekend with a 77-60 victory over Wesleyan (8-4, 0-2) on Saturday in Pepin Gym. The Panthers (11-2, 2-0) are back in action on Tuesday when they entertain Castleton at 7:00 p.m., while the Cardinals are idle until Friday when they host Hamilton at 7:00 p.m.
  • College & Facilities Closed, Women's Basketball Game to Be Played

    Due to weather affecting the region, Middlebury College and all of its facilities are closed on Friday, January 5. However, Friday's women's basketball NESCAC home game against Connecticut College at 7:00 p.m. in Pepin Gym will take place as scheduled. Please check back for any further updates.

    Middlebury shot 67 percent from the floor in the second half, on its way to a 75-59 win over Connecticut College (7-3, 0-1) in the NESCAC opener for both teams. The Panthers (10-2, 1-0) return to action on Saturday when they host Wesleyan at 3:00 p.m.
  • Middlebury Pulls Away Late in Win at Pomona-Pitzer

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 69-52 victory over host Pomona-Pitzer (2-9) on Saturday in the Rains Center. The Panthers (9-2) have nearly a week off from action before opening NESCAC play when they host Connecticut College on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
  • Last-Second Basket Propels CMS Past Middlebury
    December 29, 2017
    A running floater in the middle of the lane by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps’ Corinne Bogle with one second left lifted the Athenas to a 54-53 over Middlebury on Friday in California. The Panthers (8-2) return to the action on Saturday when they play at Pomona-Pitzer beginning at 8:00 p.m. Friday's game was Middlebury's first contest after 21 days off for the semester break.
  • Middlebury Sees Winning Streak Snapped at Skidmore
    December 08, 2017
    The Middlebury women's basketball team battled back from a nine-point halftime deficit on Friday, tying the score in the fourth quarter, before host Skidmore pulled away for a 55-49 victory. Middlebury (8-1) sees its season-opening eight-game winning streak come to an end, while the Thoroughbreds improve to 4-3. Following a busy stretch with three games in four days, the Panthers have three weeks off for finals and the holidays before returning to action on December 29 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in California.
  • Win Streak Hits Eight As Middlebury Holds Off Sage, 56-50

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team extended its winning streak to eight-straight games, as the Panthers broke a 41-41 tie in the fourth quarter en route to a 56-50 victory Thursday over Sage. Middlebury (8-0) is right back in action Friday for an 8:00 p.m. start at Skidmore, while the Gators (4-3) travel to Union on Saturday.
  • Second-Quarter Run Propels Middlebury Past Plattsburgh State

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team utilized a 16-3 run in the second quarter to pull away from visiting Plattsburgh State on Tuesday for a 60-33 win in Pepin Gymnasium. The Panthers remain unbeaten at 7-0, marking their best start to a season since 2010-11 when they went 6-0. Playing its first of three games in four days, Middlebury returns to action on Thursday when it hosts The Sage Colleges at 7:00 p.m., while Plattsburgh State (1-5) plays at the College at Brockport on Friday.

    The Middlebury women's basketball team outscored host Colby-Sawyer by a 10-3 count in overtime, including the final seven tallies, earning a 66-59 win on Friday at the David L. Coffin Fieldhouse. The Panthers remain undefeated at 6-0 and return to action on Tuesday when they host Plattsburgh State at 5:30 p.m.

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team pulled away in the fourth quarter from visiting Rensselaer on Wednesday, earning a 64-54 win during its home opener in Pepin Gymnasium. The Panthers remain unbeaten at 5-0 and return to action on Friday when they travel to Colby-Sawyer for a 5:30 p.m. game, while Rensselaer (3-3) hosts Clarkson on the same day.
  • Middlebury Edges Clarkson in Non-Conference Play

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team scored the first five points of the fourth quarter and held off a late comeback attempt by host Clarkson (3-2), earning a 53-49 win over the Golden Knights in Alumni Gymnasium. The Panthers remain unbeaten for the season at 4-0 and will host Rensselaer on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in their home opener.
  • Middlebury Throttles Johnson State
    November 21, 2017
    Middlebury led 27-4 after one quarter and was never challenged, cruising to a 74-27 win at Johnson State (0-2) on Tuesday night. Thirteen different players scored in the game as the Middlebury defense forced 31 turnovers, resulting in 40 points. The Panthers are idle until Sunday, when they visit Clarkson for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
  • Big Third Quarter Propels Middlebury Past Mount Saint Mary

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team outscored Mount Saint Mary (1-2) by a 26-8 count in the third quarter, pulling away for a 59-34 victory on Sunday during the final day of the Emerson Tip-Off Classic. The Panthers (2-0) return to action on Tuesday, traveling to Johnson State for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
  • Panthers Knock Off Emerson in Season Opener

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team tipped off the 2017-18 season with an 80-55 triumph in the Brown & Plofker Gym over host Emerson on Saturday at the Emerson Tip-Off Classic. The Panthers (1-0) return to action on Sunday when they face Mount Saint Mary (N.Y.) at 1:00 p.m.
