Hamilton & Lustgarten Earn Spots On U.S. Squad

Two former Middlebury nordic skiers have been named to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association's cross country team that will compete at the 2017 Nordic World Ski Championships next month in Lahti, Finland. Simi Hamilton '09 and Ben Lustgarten '14 claimed two of the eight spots available on the squad.

Hamilton, an Aspen, Colorado native, was a member of the 2010 and 2014 U.S. Olympic teams. A Burlington, Vermont native, Lustgarten has been coming on strong this year with some top finishes, recently winning gold at the L.L. Bean United States Championships held in Soldier Hollow, Utah.

The biennial World Championships brings together the best athletes in the sport for the February 22 through March 5 event, which will be live streamed in its entirely on NBCsports.com.
