Jimmy Martinez earned All-American honors in the 400-meter run on the final day of the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. The two-day meet was held Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama. Coupled with the men's distance medley relay third-place finish on Friday evening, the Panther men finished with 11 team points, good for a tie for 20th place out of 66 scoring teams.
During Saturday's 400 championship final, Martinez ran in the second of two heats. He crossed the line with a time of 48.34, winning the heat after the first runner to cross the line was disqualified. With that time, Martinez finished in fourth place overall.
The Panthers will begin their outdoor season when they head to California in two weeks for a pair of meets at Point Loma Nazarene University beginning on Saturday, March 24.
