Men’s 4x400 Relay Garners All-American Accolades

The Middlebury men's 4x400-meter relay team posted an All-American fifth-place finish on Saturday afternoon during the final event of the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Geneva, Ohio. The three-day event was hosted by the University of Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission at the SPIRE Institute.

The quartet of Arden Coleman, James Mulliken, Jimmy Martinez and Alex Nichols posted a qualifying time of 3:13.16 during Thursday's preliminary, good for entry into Saturday's final. In Saturday's race, the team recorded an All-American time of 3:13.28, good for fifth place.

Also competing for the men at the NCAA Championship was Kevin Serrao in the 800-meter run. During Friday's preliminary run, Serrao, who set a school record with a time of 1:50.50 during the Open New England Championships, posted a time of 1:51.70, good for 11th place.
