The men’s squash team is consistently ranked in the top 20 nationally among all divisions in collegiate squash. The team plays in a state-of-the-art nine-court squash facility that opened in the fall of 2013.
After achieving varsity status in 2008, the Panthers didn’t take long to become a top contender. In 2009 and 2010, the team captured the Summers Cup with a school-best 20 wins in 2010. In 2011-2012, the Panthers finished the season 16-9, ending the year ranked a school-best 14th nationally.
Middlebury followed that up with a pair of Summers Cup wins in 2013 and 2014, finishing each season ranked 17th nationally.
The team has now advanced to the NESCAC semifinals for the past four seasons, placing third in 2011 and 2012. Middlebury has also twice been the proud winner of the National Team Sportsmanship award.
Middlebury is a member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) , which includes Amherst, Bates, Bowdoin, , Colby, Connecticut College, Hamilton, Trinity, Tufts, Wesleyan and Williams. The squash schedule also includes challenges from some of the region’s top teams.
