Panthers Ease Past Amherst on the Road

The Middlebury men's squash team ran its winning streak to five-straight victories via a 9-0 triumph Wednesday at #17 Amherst in the Davenport Squash Courts. The 15th-ranked Panthers (5-2) return to action on Thursday when they host #27 Hobart at 6:00 p.m.

In the win over the Purple & White, the hosts recorded three-game victories in seven of the nine matches. William Kurth started things with a victory at #8 (11-4, 11-8, 11-8), while William Cembalest doubled the Panther lead with a victory in the fourth spot (11-9, 15-13, 11-5).

Jacob Ellen prevailed at #2 in four games (11-6, 5-11, 11-4, 11-8), Ben Krant battled back from a 2-1 deficit for a five-game victory at #6 (11-5, 6-11, 11-13, 11-7, 11-6), while Robert Rohrbach breezed past his opponent in the seventh spot of the ladder to score the clinching fifth point (11-7, 11-6, 11-2).

The remaining four victories for the Panthers were recorded by Nick Bermingham in three games at #9 (11-4, 11-9, 11-6), Andrew Cadienhead in the third spot (11-1, 11-8, 11-9), Jack Kagan at #5 (11-8, 11-4, 11-3) and Wyatt French atop the ladder (11-9, 11-6, 11-3).
