The Middlebury men's soccer team has been honored for its work in the classroom with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award. During the 2017-18 academic year, the Panthers posted a cumulative team grade point average of 3.63, tying Rollins College for the top GPA across the three NCAA divisions.
The award marks the eighth time in the last nine seasons that the Middlebury men's team has been recognized by the organization for its work in the classroom.
To qualify for the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2017-18 academic year, a team must have recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
On the field, the Panther men have a 4-2-2 record and a 2-2-1 mark in the NESCAC this fall. The team will continue conference play on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with a home match against third-ranked Tufts.
