  • Davis, Potter Tabbed CoSIDA Academic All-Americans

    Middlebury College men’s soccer players Peter Davis (Oreland, Pa.) and Ben Potter (Evanston, Ill.) have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American Teams. Davis garnered second-team laurels, while Potter was a third-team selection. Davis and Potter are just the 12th and 13th student-athletes in Middlebury’s history to achieve the accolade and the eighth and ninth since 2014. The duo helped lead the Panthers to a 10-4-3 mark and played in the NCAA Tournament.
  • NESCAC Fall All-Sportsmanship Team Announced

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) announced its Fall All-Sportsmanship Team for each fall sport sponsored by the conference. The All-Sportsmanship Team is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. The student-athlete selected must be in good academic standing and a member of the team at the conclusion of the season in order to be eligible for selection. 
  • NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team Members Honored

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2018 Fall All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury's 84 representatives, the highest total in the conference.
  • O’Grady Earns Third All-Region Laurel

    Middlebury College men's soccer senior Daniel O’Grady (New York, N.Y.) was honored with his third-straight all-region nod when the United Soccer Coaches organization announced its All-New England selections. The senior midfielder landed a spot on the third team. He helped lead the Panthers to a 10-4-3 mark and a spot in this fall’s NCAA Tournament.
  • Men's Soccer Falls in NCAA Play

    The Middlebury men’s soccer team saw its season come to an end with a 2-1 loss to St. Joseph’s (Maine) at an NCAA Regional hosted by Amherst. The Panthers end their season with a 10-4-3 mark, while the Monks improve to 21-0 and will play the hosts on Sunday.
  • Davis & Potter Selected CoSIDA Academic All-District

    Middlebury College men's soccer players Peter Davis (Oreland, Pa.) and Ben Potter (Evanston, Ill.) have been named College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District I First-Team Academic All-District selections by the organization. The pair will help lead Middlebury into the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday when it faces St. Joseph’s of Maine at Amherst with a 1:30 p.m. start.
  • Men’s Soccer Players Earn NESCAC Honors

    Two members of the Middlebury College men's soccer team were named to the All-NESCAC Team when the league announced its post-season honors. Senior Daniel O’Grady (New York, N.Y.) earned first-team honors, while junior Aidan Robinson (Gloucester, Mass.) was named to the second team. The duo helped lead the Panthers to a 10-3-3 mark and a trip to this weekend’s NCAA Regional at Amherst.

    Michael O’Herron ’19 recently concluded the regular-season portion of his fourth and final year on the Middlebury men’s soccer team. A mathematics major from Boulder, Colorado, O’Herron loves to teach adaptive skiing and has found plenty of opportunities on Vermont slopes.
  • Men’s Soccer Receives NCAA At-Large Bid

    The Middlebury College men's soccer team will makes its 12th NCAA Tournament appearance and second in a row when it travels to Amherst for an NCAA Regional on November 10-11. The Panthers will face St. Joseph’s (Maine) in one match-up, while the host school will entertain Bridgewater State. The winners will meet in a second-round contest on Sunday.
  • Williams Knocks Off Men's Soccer Team

    Williams scored the game’s only goal in the 56th minute, as the sixth-seeded Ephs (9-5-2) knocked off third-seeded Middlebury (10-3-3) in a NESCAC Quarterfinal contest on South Street Field. The game came just four days after Middlebury defeated Williams 2-0 in the NESCAC regular-season finale for both teams.
  • Men's Soccer Hosts Williams In NESCAC Quarters

    Third-seeded Middlebury begins the quest for its fourth NESCAC Championship when it hosts sixth-seeded Williams on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. in a quarterfinal matchup. Defending NESCAC Champion Tufts is the No. 1 seed for the 2018 NESCAC Men's Soccer Championship for the second straight year. The Jumbos will have home field advantage throughout the tournament, which begins with quarterfinal matches on the campus of the higher seeds on Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28. Connecticut College and Amherst will also host quarterfinal contests. Following this weekend's action, the highest remaining seed will host the semifinals and final on November 3-4.

    The Middlebury men’s soccer team scored once in each half for a 2-0 NESCAC victory Tuesday at Williams in the season finale for both teams. The win secured the third seed in the NESCAC Tournament for Middlebury (10-2-3, 6-2-2) and a home game in the quarterfinals on Saturday against an opponent to be determined. The Ephs (8-5-2, 4-4-2) have already clinched a spot in the tournament and will learn their seeding following Wednesday’s remaining league contests.

    For the second-straight game, the Middlebury men’s soccer team took advantage of a penalty kick for the contest’s only goal, edging Bates 1-0 Saturday for an important home NESCAC victory. The Panthers (9-2-3, 5-2-2) cap the regular season Tuesday on the road against Williams at 3:00 p.m., while the Bobcats (8-6-0, 3-6-0) host Colby Wednesday in an 8:00 p.m. start.

    The Middlebury men’s soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to eight games, as the Panthers cashed in on a penalty kick for a 1-0 triumph win Wednesday at Castleton (7-7-1). Middlebury (8-2-3) returns to NESCAC play Saturday at 12:00 p.m., hosting Bates.

    Middlebury College men’s soccer player Daniel O’Grady (New York, N.Y.) has been selected as the NESCAC Player of the Week. The senior midfielder recorded three goals and two assists in a 3-0 week for the Panthers. After earning a goal and an assist in road wins at Utica and Trinity, O’Grady assisted on the game-winner Sunday in a 1-0 home overtime victory against Wesleyan.
  • Wilhelm's OT Game Winner Lifts Panthers Past Cardinals

    Henry Wilhelm scored 8:19 into overtime, lifting Middlebury (7-2-3, 4-2-2) to a 1-0 victory over Wesleyan (3-9-0, 2-6-0) on South Street Field. The Panthers return to action on Wednesday night at Castleton, while the Cardinals will host Amherst on Friday evening.
  • Panthers Rally for 3-2 Victory at Trinity

    The Middlebury men’s soccer team scored three-straight goals in the first half, erasing an early deficit for a 3-2 NESCAC triumph Saturday at Trinity. The Panthers are unbeaten (4-0-2) in their last six games with five of those contests coming on the road. Middlebury (6-2-3, 3-2-2) has a quick turnaround, facing Wesleyan at home Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
  • Davis, Leech, Puccinelli Inducted Into Phi Beta Kappa

    Three Middlebury College senior student-athletes were elected to Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest honor society for the liberal arts and sciences in the United States. Men's soccer back Peter Davis (Oreland, Pa.), swimmer Brendan Leech (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and women's tennis player Christina Puccinelli (New York, N.Y.) were honored for their hard work in the classroom. The event was the 151st Phi Beta Kappa induction in Middlebury's history.

    Middlebury and Tufts each scored a goal in the opening half and went scoreless over the final 90 minutes as the teams finished their NESCAC match Saturday in a 1-1 tie. The Panthers (4-2-3, 2-2-2) return to action Monday with a 4:30 p.m. non-conference tilt at Utica, while the third-ranked Jumbos (9-0-1, 5-0-1) are home Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. against Babson.
  • Men’s Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

    The Middlebury men's soccer team has been honored for its work in the classroom with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award. During the 2017-18 academic year, the Panthers posted a cumulative team grade point average of 3.63, tying Rollins College for the top GPA across the three NCAA divisions.

    The Middlebury men’s soccer team recorded a season-high six goals, as the Panthers picked up a 6-0 non-conference victory Sunday at Maine-Farmington (3-6-0). Middlebury (4-2-2) returns to NESCAC play Saturday, hosting third-ranked Tufts at 1:30 p.m.

    Davis Oudet scored his first career goal in the second overtime, lifting Middlebury (3-2-1, 2-2-0) to a 2-1 victory at Hamilton (4-3-0, 2-2-0) on Sunday afternoon. The Panthers return to action on Saturday at Colby.

    Bowdoin’s Drake Byrd scored the match’s lone goal with just 11 under minutes elapsed, before holding off late charges by Middlebury during a 1-0 NESCAC win Saturday on South Street Field.   • Wilhelm Named NESCAC Player of the Week

    Middlebury College men’s soccer player Henry Wilhelm (Shaker Heights, Ohio) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. In the only lone contest for the Panthers, the junior scored the match’s lone goal in the 72nd minute as Middlebury defeated 10th-ranked Amherst by a 1-0 score. The tally was also the first of Wilhelm’s career.
  • Late Goal Lifts Middlebury Past #10 Amherst, 1-0

    Middlebury’s Henry Wilhelm scored the game’s only goal in the latter stages of the second half, as the Panthers collected a 1-0 home NESCAC win Saturday over 10th-ranked Amherst. The victory was the first for new Middlebury head coach Alex Elias. The Panthers (1-1-1, 1-1-0) return to the field Tuesday at Mount St. Mary for a 7:00 p.m. start, while the Mammoths (2-1-0, 1-1-0) are home next Saturday against Williams.
