Three Panther Men Selected to NEILA All-New England Teams

Three members of the Middlebury College men's lacrosse team were honored when the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) announced its All-New England teams. Senior Eric Rogers (Lebanon, N.J.) earned a spot on the second team as a defender, while classmate Henry Riehl (Baltimore, Md.) was a second-team attacker and junior Michael McCormack (Williamstown, Mass.) landed a spot on the second team as a midfielder.

Rogers was a three-time First-Team All-NESCAC honoree, earning third-team All-American honors as a sophomore and a spot on the second team as a junior. The defender led the Panthers with 14 caused turnovers last season and was second in ground balls with 39. He was a mainstay on the Middlebury defense for four seasons, serving as a captain this spring. Rogers ends his career starting 67-68 games with 59 caused turnovers and 126 ground balls.

Riehl, a Second-Team All-NESCAC recipient, led the Panthers with 39 goals in 2018, to go along with 12 assists and 51 points, which placed him second among his teammates. He also recorded a NESCAC-best two man-down goals, while picking up 33 ground balls and taking 134 shots, sixth among conference foes. Riehl also tallied a point in every game for the past two seasons, with four goals and three assists in a victory over Williams in April. He finished his career with 127 goals and 53 assists for 180 points in 68 games played.

McCormack recently earned his first all-conference selection with a first-team nod as an attackman. He finished the season with 30 goals and 14 assists for 44 points, good for third on the squad. McCormack was tied for the team lead with five man-up goals (tied for 12th in the NESCAC), while scooping up 19 ground balls this season. The junior earned a point in every game this spring, including five goals in a win over Plattsburgh State.
