  • Jackson, Riehl Selected USILA Scholar All-American Honorees

    Recent Middlebury College graduates and men’s lacrosse players John Jackson (Hood River, Ore.) and Henry Riehl (Baltimore, Md.) have been named Division III Scholar All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). Jackson graduated last month with a degree in environmental economics, while Riehl walked across the stage having majored in economics.

    Three members of the Middlebury College men's lacrosse team were honored when the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced its All-American teams. Senior Eric Rogers (Lebanon, N.J.) earned a spot on the second team as a defender, junior attack Michael McCormack (Williamstown, Mass.) found a place on the third team, while senior Henry Riehl (Baltimore, Md.) picked up honorable mention honors on attack for the second-straight year.
  • Rogers & Riehl to Play in USILA All-Star Game

    Seniors Eric Rogers (Lebanon, N.J.) and Henry Riehl (Baltimore, Md.) have been selected to participate in the 77th Annual USILA/Nike North-South Senior All-Star game. The contest will be played on Providence’s Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on Friday, May 25 at 5:30 p.m. Rogers and Riehl will be members of the north team coached by Bowdoin head coach Jason Archbell.
  • Riehl Selected NEILA Academic All-Region

    Senior Henry Riehl (Baltimore, Md.) continues to rack up the postseason accolades, landing a spot on the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Academic All-New England teams. Riehl will graduate this weekend with a degree in economics. To be eligible, members of the teams are nominated by their head coaches and who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their careers.
  • NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team Members Honored

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2018 Spring All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.40. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury's 131 representatives, the second-highest total in the conference.
  • NESCAC Spring All-Sportsmanship Teams Announced

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference announced its Spring All-Sportsmanship Team for each spring sport sponsored by the conference. The All-Sportsmanship Team is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. The student-athlete selected must be in good academic standing and a member of the team at the conclusion of the season in order to be eligible for selection.
  • Three Panther Men Selected to NEILA All-New England Teams

    Three members of the Middlebury College men's lacrosse team were honored when the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) announced its All-New England teams. Senior Eric Rogers (Lebanon, N.J.) earned a spot on the second team as a defender, while classmate Henry Riehl (Baltimore, Md.) was a second-team attacker and junior Michael McCormack (Williamstown, Mass.) landed a spot on the second team as a midfielder.
  • Men's Lacrosse Players Garner NESCAC Honors

    Three members of the Middlebury College men’s lacrosse team were recognized when the league announced its All-NESCAC teams. Senior Eric Rogers (Lebanon, N.J.) and junior Michael McCormack (Williamstown, Mass.) were named to the first team, while senior Henry Riehl (Baltimore, Md.) earned second-team honors. The group helped lead the Panthers to a 9-7 mark in 2018, with one of the nation’s toughest schedules.
  • Middlebury Falls to No. 5 Tufts In NESCAC Quarterfinal

    The Middlebury men’s lacrosse team fell by a 16-12 score to fifth-ranked Tufts in the NESCAC Quarterfinals on Saturday in Massachusetts. The Jumbos (14-1) advance to next weekend’s semifinals, while Middlebury ends its season at 9-7.  
  • Men's Lacrosse Travels to Tufts for NESCAC Quarterfinal

    Middlebury secured the No. 6 seed in the NESCAC Tournament and will travel to third-seeded Tufts for a quarterfinal game on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Wesleyan, the defending league champions, is the No. 1 seed for the 2018 NESCAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship which begins on Saturday, April 28 with quarterfinal round action at the higher seeds. The highest remaining seed will host the semifinal and championship on May 5 and 6.
  • Big First Half Propels Panthers Past Ephs in Regular-Season Finale

    Tied at 2-2 nearly six minutes into the contest, Middlebury outscored Williams by a 10-2 count over the remainder of Wednesday's opening half en route to a 20-13 victory over the Ephs (8-7, 6-4) in the regular-season finale for both teams. The Panthers (9-6, 5-5) earned the sixth seed in the upcoming NESCAC Tournament and will hit the road on Saturday for a quarterfinal game at third-seeded Tufts.
  • Second-Half Run Leads No. 6 Tufts Past Men’s Lacrosse

    Middlebury grabbed a 7-3 lead early in the third quarter, but a string of 10-unanswered goals by Tufts lifted the sixth-ranked Jumbos to a 13-10 win Saturday on Youngman Field at Alumni Stadium. Middlebury (8-6, 4-5) closes out the regular-season portion of its schedule on Wednesday at home against Williams at 5:00 p.m., while Tufts (12-1, 8-1) hosts Bowdoin on the same day at 7:00 p.m.
  • Win Streak Hits Five As Middlebury Grounds Endicott, 11-9

    Middlebury capped off its five-game road trip with a perfect record, as the Panthers scored four-straight goals in the final quarter for an 11-9 road victory Tuesday at Endicott (4-10). Middlebury (8-5) returns home on Saturday, hosting sixth-ranked Tufts at 1:00 p.m. in NESCAC action.
  • Panther Men’s Lacrosse Squeaks By Trinity

    The Middlebury men's lacrosse team held off a furious comeback attempt by Trinity, including a save from goalie Charles Midgley in the final seconds, for a 13-12 NESCAC victory at Trinity (4-7, 1-6). The win is the third-straight triumph for the Panthers by one goal. Winners of four-consecutive contests, Middlebury (7-5, 4-4) remains on the road Tuesday for a non-conference contest at Endicott beginning at 6:00 p.m.
  • Late Goal Lifts Middlebury Past Springfield, 12-11

    Middlebury’s A.J. Kucinski tallied the game-winning goal with 59 seconds left in regulation, as the Panthers came away with as 12-11 road victory Wednesday at Springfield. Middlebury (6-5) returns to NESCAC play Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. contest at Trinity.
  • Strong Second Quarter Propels Middlebury Past Colby

    Middlebury outscored Colby 4-1 in the second quarter, as the visiting Panthers went on to post an 11-10 road NESCAC win Saturday in Maine. The Panthers (5-5, 3-4) remain on the road for a 5:00 p.m. contest at Springfield on Wednesday.
  • First-Quarter Run Lifts Middlebury Over Hamilton

    The Middlebury men’s lacrosse team recorded five-straight goals over a stretch of 11:25 of the first quarter on its way to a 12-6 NESCAC victory at Hamilton (1-9, 0-6) on Wednesday. The Panthers (4-5, 2-4) remain on the road Saturday for a conference contest at Colby beginning at 1:00 p.m.
  • Big Second Half Leads Amherst Past Middlebury

    With the game tied at 8-8 after 30 minutes, seventh-ranked Amherst (8-1, 4-0) outscored Middlebury 10-3 in the second session, on its way to an 18-11 victory over the Panthers (3-5, 1-4). Middlebury returns to action at Hamilton on Wednesday at 4:30, while the Mammoths are at Wesleyan for a 6:30 game on the same day.
  • Men's Lacrosse Drops Road Contest at #8 Denison
    March 27, 2018
    Eighth-ranked Denison (7-2) scored six-straight goals midway through the game, on its way to a 12-7 victory over Middlebury (3-4) on Tuesday night. The Panthers return home on Saturday when they host seventh-ranked Amherst at 2:00 p.m.
  • Bowdoin Downs Men's Lacrosse With Strong Middle Quarters
    March 24, 2018
    Bowdoin outscored Middlebury 11-3 in the middle two quarters, on its way to a 17-8 win Saturday afternoon at Whittier Field. The Polar Bears have won four-straight overall and improve to 4-2 and 2-2 in the NESCAC with the victory. The Panthers fall to 3-3 and 1-3 NESCAC in league play with the setback. Middlebury returns to action on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. with a road game at No. 9 Denison.
  • Men's Lax Downs Plattsburgh State
    March 20, 2018
    Middlebury won 18 of 22 face-offs on its way to a 12-7 victory over Plattsburgh State (1-5) on Youngman Field at Alumni Stadium on Tuesday. The Panthers (3-2) are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Bowdoin for a 1:00 p.m. start, while the Cardinals are idle for over a week before hosting Rensselaer on the Wednesday, March 28 at 4:00 p.m.
  • #9 Wesleyan Holds Off Middlebury
    March 17, 2018
    Middlebury saw its comeback bid at ninth-ranked Wesleyan come up just short, as the Cardinals (4-1, 3-0) scored the game’s final two goals for a 13-10 NESCAC victory in Connecticut. The Panthers trailed by four goals and closed to margin to one (11-10) in the fourth quarter, but the hosts recorded the final two scores to earn the win. Middlebury (2-2, 1-2), who has already played three games against ranked opponents this season, is back in action Tuesday, hosting Plattsburgh State at 4:00 p.m.
  • Men’s Lacrosse Holds Off Second-Half Surge By St. Lawrence

    The Middlebury men’s lacrosse team led 12-3, and held off a ferocious comeback by #11 St. Lawrence (2-1) for a 12-11 victory. The win was the third straight one-goal decision between the teams. Middlebury (2-1) is back in action on Saturday when they travel to #2 Wesleyan for a 2:00 p.m. start, while St. Lawrence will entertain Vassar College on the same day at 1:00 p.m.
  • Men's Lacrosse Game Moved to Monday

    Due to impending weather, the men's lacrosse game scheduled for Tuesday, March 13 against St. Lawrence has been moved to Monday, March 12 at 4:15 p.m.
  • Middlebury Edged by Connecticut College, 8-6
    March 10, 2018
    Middlebury suffered its first setback of the season, as Connecticut College scored the game’s final three goals for an 8-6 victory Saturday on Youngman Field. The Panthers (1-1, 1-1) are home Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. against 10th-ranked St. Lawrence, while the Camels (3-0, 2-0) take on Transylvania earlier in the day in Baltimore.
  • Men's Lacrosse Holds Off #14 Bates

    Middlebury opened its season with an 11-10 win over #14 Bates (1-2, 0-1) on Youngman Field at Alumni Stadium. The Panthers (1-0, 1-0) return to action next Saturday when they host Connecticut College at 1:00 p.m.

    The Middlebury men’s lacrosse team returns many of the key pieces of a lineup that advanced to the NESCAC Championship game a year ago. Facing one of the nation’s toughest schedules once again this season, the roster is experienced, including nine seniors who have played in back-to-back NESCAC Championship games, as well as two of the last three NCAA Tournaments.
