The Middlebury men's golf team sits in sixth place after one day of action at the 2017 NESCAC Golf Qualifier hosted by Trinity at the Indian Hill Country Club. The host school leads the event with a 299, followed by Williams (304), Tufts (314) and the Panthers in sixth (324). Action resumes on Sunday with the final 18 holes of the qualifier.
Jeffrey Giguere led Middlebury through the first 18 holes, carding a 76 to place in a tie for sixth place. David McDaniel and Bennett Doherty were next, both shooting 82 to finish in a tie for 23rd place. Joe Ko shot an 84 on day one, while Jordan Bessalel came in with an 85.
